I know you already finished the game, but try to remember that there was a door you couldn't open in this area. That way when you need an item you don't have to look online, you can just remember back and go to that door once you get the keycard.

Mr. X said you need an AK before you go to the core and gave you an upgraded security card. Put 2 and 2 together and you should be able to realize that you need to head over to the warehouse and access a room you weren't able to before.
