Besides, once the ai's resources run out and they're down to regular RM gathering speed, you can basically call it a win provided you have a sturdy fort still. Now we both know that the ai does not micromanage its units. Even if Ilumiknight and his allies are outnumbered, it's only by 2 enemies. 2 enemy ai wouldn't make much of a difference to players who are skilled at facing the ai. Something you may wanna know about the ai Coi is that if you micro to destroy their siege weapons, they're basically screwed. Deathmatch = 5000 stone. Build some bombards and a castle or two. No siege weapons for the ai = yup this is gonna go bad. (cont)

After watching countless DM battles with the ai, i've figured out they sometimes make one fatal error... they won't get an economy up. This doesn't happen every time, but with me, sometimes the ai will not make a good economy and instead just completely bull rush military. The problem is, they can't supply anything at that point. Take this battle as an example of numbers. Ilumiknight and his two allies are outnumbered 3 to 5. In population counts that's at maximum 600:1000. (cont)

Secondly, the level of skill the ai plays at on Hard and Hardest are the same. They do not play differently. Also, hardest isn't "cheating." Now if you really wanted to face a match that'd give any player a run for their money, it's the mode Defend The Wonder. The resource advantage the ai has over you on Hardest is absolutely insane. That advantage allows massive pressure on the player. From what studies i've done in Deathmatch, I came up with one error the ai keeps making (cont)

Though I admit I came off mean, Knight is said to be a good player, so it came off surprising to me how he played this. Trust me, it's not like i've never done a post imp DM with hardest ai, because I have. Also, cheating Coi? Not to be mean, but do you even know what advantage the ai gets at the start to be harder? I'm not a deathmatch specialist, but if you can't pull a landslide over 5 hardest on DEATHMATCH, then you must be really bad :). Micro cavalry + bombard tower or stuffed castles + layer of wall = the bane of aoe 2 ai. Also, HORRIBLE idea not to get an economy. There is wood. That means farms, which means food, which means mass sell wood and food for gold. I am amazed you even won.

The one thing I hate about Age 3 compared to Age 2 is the distance that castles or fortresses had to be in regards to the opposing town centers. In Age 2, you could build anywhere you wanted as long as you had the space, Age 2 you were limited to where you could build depending on where the opponent was. Bring on those Castle wars hehe.

Something not everyone knows is that if you play a game against CPU's on "Hardest" in a random map game, the CPU's will cheat by having more starting resources than you. Thus they can get up their armies and economy way ahead of you and rush you to death, even if there come several CPU armies consisting of rival civilizations, they only really care about destroying you.

@collegefootballfan44 Well strange enough, Aoe2 will play almost any music you have on whatever disk is in your computer at the time. Yes I did use a file, but you can swap the disks once the game is up and the music will be whatever music is on the disk.

My strategy when on teams is to group everyone in one corner, 1player makes defences, another makes the walls, and another makes the troops. Works almost every time. The defences will stop the enemies attacks and the buildup of troops can get ready to counter.

I recorded it from a cpu's perspective as you can see in the bottom left corner. The reason I did that was that we got in a lot of useless arguing and it was flooding with text in the chat with useless commentary about the crazy lagging.
