i loved Kreator's early blackened thrash album, their fast, ripping thrash from the 80's and coma of souls, and i love their newer (VR, Enemy of God, and a few from hordes of chaos) melodic thrash! German thrash metal all the way! (and Megadeth)

They were influenced by Venom, Bathory, Mercyful Fate and later by Metallica and Slayer. Yeah, TheUnholyCross have right, they were influenced by black and thrash metal bands.

@thrashened Kreator were influenced mostly by NWOBHM & Venom. NOT by Bathory! and then also by Slayer (they got their name Tormentor from Slayer song).

but 1st mainly by Venom. as every big extreme band out there. though, "thrash" metal was in it's formative years then, so we can't say they were "influenced by thrash metal". but Kreator are one of the creators of thrash metal. for sure.

(thrash metal = mixing classic heavy metal with dirty punk, formula 1st practiced by mighty Venom).
