With South Korea's shitty government implementation of the internet encryption and securities protocols, the ROK has one hell of a setback in regards to the rest of the world. Try looking at a Korean bank website on Firefox, you can't!
Not to mention Koreans can't upgrade their computers to Vista, or change to any other operating system because the programs and internet protocols don't interface with anything other than MS products. With 1 USD buying KRW at 1400, I say good luck implementing.
@kennyCusine You can't blame the Korean government for everything. With information technology serving to train programmers around 2000, IE was the only prominent web browser w/ Netscape dead. Virtually all Korean programmers then had to follow the IE codes, resulting in IE domination. Firefox emerged in 2004, and couldn't survive IE world there. There's been gov- and private-led movements to weaken IE under [Open Web], and increasing use of Smart phone will soon replace IE from the throne.
I admire Korea very much. The fact that they stood strong between the strong and imperialistic Japan and the giant of territory China as I would say is miracle by the Korean people
