  • ....but will it blend

  • ahh I sold the car about 3 years ago. It was a fun car but I upgraded to a TT 300zx. I still want to build another KA-T tho.

  • @sk8142 Hey I saw your comment and was wondering, since I'll be getting my first car fairly soon (less than 2 years - lol), and I'm going to automotive school after high school for aftermarket, engines in general, which would you recommend? A 240SX or 300ZX, as far as insurance, maintenance, potential. Obviously it would be easier to get more power out of a 6 cylinder as opposed to 4, but in general. Thx for reading my little rant, hope you answer. xD

  • Post more videos of this 240!!!!!

  • Cx racing has turbo kits for 1400 :)

  • Wow! I like the way it sound with out exhaust. Nothing like the sound of a spoiling turbo

  • where did you get all your parts?

  • Dude nice 240!

I used to own one of the early 89's, production 9/88, and for having 160,000 miles on it pulled harder than most modern cars I've been in and it was auto! Love those things, sold mine for a mk3 supra tho :)

  • what kind of turbo kit is that your whip is sick!!!

  • WHOOPS

  • perty cool got to atmit that the sound is hard as fuck i like it the turboe sound tight check out my fun in the all moter KA24E R4 S13 FOR LIFE

  • thats pretty good man how much did it all cost because i got like 4 sohc and im tired of all my 240 friends saying sohc is shit

  • I miss my 240 =(.

  • pullin pretty nice, with a full tank.

  • KA24SET?

    Hahaha. Idk.

  • parts list for ka rebuild for turbo? everything please that u bought. want to do it the rite way first time.

  • i have a sohc also but i dunno if the garrett gt47? will work or not.... but i got the turbo brand spanking new for 100bucks! it was a steal

  • i just sold a t3/t4 turbo to a frnd for his sr, 250 with a wastegate lol ebay tho lmao

  • you got a turbo for a 100 bucks yea that is a steal dayum

  • dude wats that on the lens...

  • @GunmetalSR looks like a buger

  • where did you get your mani?

  • fourth gear pulls harder than i was expecting. not too shabby bro. single slammin ftw.

  • will it pass smog?

  • no prob. not.... but I don't have smog where I live and don't have any emissions equipment on the engine at all.

  • I hear pinging, im pretty sure 2nd gear mid range

  • Nope not pinging its actually the shitty 1st gen B&M SS. The timing maps were pretty conservative becuase this was during the middle of summer (100+ degree) and was on 92 octace fuel.

  • ahhh the true JDM tight type... you're cool!

  • sohc sucks lol hope u got ur money worth cuz that motor will blow haha

  • youre whack. sohc over dohc ANYday. those motors can take more of a beating than just about any motor ive ever seen. kill yourself.

  • you obviously have no clue what you are talking about... take your head out of your ass you dumb shit.

  • pretty good increase for a sohc

  • love that spooling sound of your turbo! what are the specs for it?

  • god where do you find roads like that?

anyways nice car dude forreal. i have a single cam, i'd LIKE to do that, but not with 220k miles on it. granted there all granny miles, but damn i can barely trust my car flooring it now, muchless with a turbo.

nice car lemme know how it holds up

  • Rebuild kits are cheap.

  • True but i don't have much of any money anymore, because i just sold the single cam 240 for a twin cam one with 130k miles. I dont really plan on a turbo any time too soon, mostly just daily driving and random drifting until i get out of school.

  • So how big a difference is the SOHC to the DOHC?

  • The difference is more than you would think. Mostly the acceleration and torque, seeing how the top-end is the same because of the govenor. Drifting is alot easier, even still being open diff. I would DEFINITELY reccomend twin cam, unless your going turbo, i heard it was better to turbo a single cam than a twin.

  • How so?

  • They say because the single cam has lower compression it causes for more reliability for a turbo. Not really sure exactly. I hear mixed reviews. But n/a, then definitely twin cam.

  • I think they changed the compression in the motors from 89 to 90 then they stayed the same all the way through. i forgot where i read this. and lower compression motors are usually more friendly with boosting.

  • TRue, older Ka's befor 2/89 had 9.1:1 , i know cuz i had a 2/89 lol and it pulld just as fast as a dohc

  • thats awesome. I have a 91 240, but it has the front end of a 89- 90 , and the motor has those junk yard numbers on it saying its an '89 engine. I wonder if there are some numbers on the engine that says exactly what the engine specs are..

  • well u said its a soch? i dout its a early 89 with the higher compression. 3/89 or newer soch have 8.6;1 compression. 140hp an like 150somthing tq . just look up Ka24E u can find all the spec u need.

  • Alright thats cool. Ima try to find some sort of casting number or vin on the engine and look it up one day, i wouldn't mind the lower compression cuz im working on a turbo for it now so we'll see!

  • eather ka will do fine with turboing. Sohc or Dohc, good luck!

  • i dunno about the GT turbo tho... pistons and rods are gonna be a help but the block itself? is the block stable enuff to hold all that boost?

  • it holds at least 15.0:1 N/A and is begging for more!!!!!!...........block is damn strong head studs will pull out before blown block(or crap tune will blow)

  • word... i got a 12/88 240.

    built to 15.0:1 N/A

yes it does hold thanks to 110...just smoked a silverado 350 and a 6.0 turbo short bed; flat out and from a dig......hahahahaha...ka24e forever

  • fuckin sweet i bet your spank s2000's all day!

  • thats exactly like my 240 minus the turbo.

  • what kind of manifold did you use for it and how many hp if you dynoed it but good job with it

  • sick Ka-t man, good job.

  • Sweet car man. I take it thats not stock internals? Actually what set up are you running & how much boost? cuz thats quick as hell especially for the sohc.

  • Hey thanks. The motor is fully built with turbo 240 con. rods, arias 8.8:1 pistons, Clevite 77's bearings ARP head and main studs, balanced internals, colt cam turbo cam regring and a few other small things. I'm running a t3 super 60 turbo from a thunderbird @ 15 psi and it's holding up pretty good so far.

  • nice. how much did u pay for all that bro?

  • All that and I can still hear the timing chain noise. I had the same 240sx and the same color. The most fun to drive car, but that noise always bothered me. btw nice video.
