It's easier when the baby is calm (not crying) and hungry (not famished). Tickle your baby's nose with your nipple and be patient and wait for your baby to open wide. Once they latch on you may need to go to the corner of your baby's mouth and gently roll your baby's lips out with your finger. Tucking your baby's chin into the breast will ensure that your baby can breathe through his nose.
