The time for raag bhairavi is traditionally night time (late night) or any time at the end of a concert! After Bhairavi usually the baithak or the soiree finishes! Bhairavi has all the 7 notes and usually the mood crated is so intense nothing else will shine after it except another composition in Guess what -- Bhairavi! of course!
This is classic Patiala Gharana!!
I am glad I stumbled on to this video! Thanks for the post! Briliant taan patterns! The singer was in his prime!

@cheraat , can you please remove Ghazal from "Old is Gold, Ghazal,", this word has nothing to do here, just thumri bhairvi would do it " Thumri Bhairvi by Ustad Amanat Ali Khan, Ustad Fateh Ali Khan. That is all what is need to be written on the title
@athar077 , just my guess- Ghulam Ali looks, in this picture, a kid of about 25-30 years old. He is now 70. So the timing is probably 40-45 years ago, around 1968.
Bhai shaib kia baat hai. aap to baree mudat key baat Sunehrey moti chun kar layey hain. Amanat ali sahib ko sun kar dil jhoom utha . Bahut bahut shukriya aisey Gems share karnain ka.
The Best ghazell fromPakistan & From Giant Fakhr-e-Pakistan Ustad Amanat ali & by his brother Fateh ali khan (Do not confised with overrated Nusrat fateh plz.) .Historical upload waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah !
