What happened to switching up styles when one didn't work? What happen to those amazing fire man carries and the suplex? What happened to training like a champion and being in shape?
Once I said Cung had a chance to beat Anderson Silva, now I don't even think he can beat himself in regards to training like a champion or getting in shape to fight competitively because he already gave up.

nothing against cung le but how in the heck is this going to be a good fight. it'll be a pay day fight just for the money. forget the reach and all that stuff. ufc is a different thing and silva is at a different level. i hate silva but i would put my money on him. check the odd makers in vegas. guaranteed that'll be a big spread.
people silva is a freak, hence the title spider,for the people that have watched silva vs sonnen, thats the closest silva has ever come to a loss, but stil won, after taking 200 punches from sonnen, sonnen came in with a tough strategy, it was very successfull, as silva prefrs stand up. silva was on the buttom most of the time yet sonnen got up at the bell bleeding, and silvas face was clean.commentators were astonished how he could do such damage from the buttom, he looked like a bjj master!!

@Swingingmelodyman yes, if you didn't know about that its old news. was also debated a whole lot so i really don't look at it as a factor. I still think sonnen has the ability to take him down, he's cocky enough to win, and he will take shots to the face to get that takedown.

I know this is old news, but, so was the first fight. The rib injury prolly had a lot to do with Sonnen being able to take him down. When Silva is 100%, Sonnen isn't gonna take many punches to the face to try and take him down before he himself is knocked out.

Both are great fighters but I'm sorry to disappoint the Vietnamese community ( I'm myself a Viet ), but I'm afraid Cung Le doesn't have a solid ground game and he definitely doesn't have a jaw to take hits. If Silva throws bombs right on Le's jaw and put him on the ground, the fight will be over very quickly. Anderson need to get very close and up in Le's face with furious bombs, it will be an easy win for Silva.
Silva is a best and most likey could dominate at 205 also. Silva will not lose unless he gets caught with something. Even Rashad has respect for him and said that he tapped Silva on the shoulder and said he would like to compete against him and Silva smiled and said "yea yea that would be fun" With a smile and Evans said it seemed like he was basically say yeah because i can beat you. Silva is confident and the best ever to this point!

@123dogtrainer silva wouldnt make a bad Shashou match, because he'd knock anyone out, in martial arts combat. especially chinese fighting styles. they're pretty bad matchup to anderson.

Cung Le with certainly beat Silva in a Shashou match, but definitely not in an MMA event. Silva is taller (giving him better reach), faster, and more versatile. Cung will be out in the first round.

silva has all the advantages in term of size and reach..but skills..I dont think so. It will be interesting to see a smaller guy beat a larger guy...just like Cain beat Lesnar..
its gonna be a really close fight because both of them have very unique techniques and kicks and have good grappling, although i think cung le may have a bit more power and also has good counter strikes but anything can happen in a fight so itll be really close
I don't know who would win this fight. It'd be good. Cung is like Lyoto Machida with the unorthodox style fighting along with the wrestling which is Anderson's weakness. If Cung watches out for Anderson's strikes. he should be able to give him a good fight.

cung le took on MMA at too late an age. he is currently 39. There is no way an old man can take on a younger fighter, especially wen that fighter is Silva. Most sports have the retirement at around 38. Cung le is already on borrowed time.

Look at who Anderson has beaten during his UFC winning streak, he beat Hendo, Belfort (who is equally as dangerous as Cung Le in standup, and look what happened there), he destroyed Rich Franklin twice, he took out Leben in his debut with ease and Leben has Huge power. I would say that the other way around. You dont see Silva slam people like rampage do you? Cung is known for his slams and wrestling as well. Whens the last time youve seen Lee do any fancy faints and dodging? Not really ever. Silva does it all the time. Id say Silva is faster and Lee is stronger.
thing is Anderson Silva is so tall for his weight class and his reach is amazing. This allows him to dominate as a Middleweight. He has about an 8 inch reach advantage over Le and that is something that is really hard to fight against especially since Le is a range fighter. As much as I admire Le, Silva is just another type of beast.
i think if they came in at the same weight and not put on 20 a day after the weigh in, it'll be a even fight. but with silvas reach ill give him a slight advantage. gsp vs cung le pfft, gsp will get shredded.

@Maipat123 well to be honest if you see Silva VS Franklin Silva crushed Franklin, that is an easy going fight, I agree Lee dominated Smith most the fight but he got knocked out (at least in the first fight) also long limbs aply to legs too and Silva has some sick muay thai kicks as well, he is elusive an fast he is a black belt in BJJ and has a deadly clinch (again Franklin as my proof) don't get me wrong I like CL he is a hell of fun to watch but Silva is a full time complete fighter P4P No1.

Well, Cing Le did beat Frank Shamrock, who previously held the UFC Light Heavyweight title and other titles too, including the Strikeforce Middleweight title. You could say Frank is past his prime, which is probably true, but he and Cung Le are the same age.

All the karate & kickboxing guys would get excited & the fight would sell due to Le's K-1 success, but Le will stay retired & conscious & won't take this fight as long as he has steady income from acting.

If Anderson Silva fights Cung Le and both in top condition physically and mentally, I'd bet on Silva losing. This is one of the few guys that can beat A.Silva and Dana White knows. Does that mean Cung Le is better than Silva and is unbeatable? Absolutely not! Fighting is like Rock Paper Scissors! Just the way things are.
I really, really want to see this fight happen. Right now, I'm a huge fan of Cung Le, but I think Silva has the edge. However, Le would be the best kicker that Silva has faced, probably the only person who uses kicks with that amount of frequency. This would be a great fight. Man, if only.

Anderson Silva has one weakness. That weakness is against Asian fighters. Cung Le vs Anderson Silva would be explosive and desperately needs to happen. It can answer lots of questions about both fighters. It must happen..
Cung Le would open a can on Anderson. Anderson has good footwork but his strikes aren't that powerful. He's able to counterstrike and pepper guys but not cause much damage. Cung's strikes are very short, fast bursts, and his kicks are brutal. It would be a good fight, but I see Cung winning it.

@piratebri Silva is very flexible, fast as shit and apparently has a very dense bone structure . I've seen some of those "light looking" taps he puts on fighters knock them out e.g. his knockout of Travis Griffith. Silva is what i call "heavy handed". I also saw him split a guy's head open and knock him out with a shin kick to the forehead. His bones have got to be dense and strong. Everybody can't do that. Sometimes shin on head doesn't end well for the shin.
They're both getting old so go figure but what i want to see is when their top students duke it out against each other while they're in their primes to see what wins in the cage, Sanshou or Muay Thai!

cung le took on MMA at too late an age. he is currently 39. There is no way an old man can take on a younger fighter, especially wen that fighter is Silva. Most sports have the retirement at around 38. Cung le is already on borrowed time.

thing is Anderson Silva is so tall for his weight class and his reach is amazing. This allows him to dominate as a Middleweight. He has about an 8 inch reach advantage over Le and that is something that is really hard to fight against especially since Le is a range fighter. As much as I admire Le, Silva is just another type of beast.

@Maipat123 well to be honest if you see Silva VS Franklin Silva crushed Franklin, that is an easy going fight, I agree Lee dominated Smith most the fight but he got knocked out (at least in the first fight) also long limbs aply to legs too and Silva has some sick muay thai kicks as well, he is elusive an fast he is a black belt in BJJ and has a deadly clinch (again Franklin as my proof) don't get me wrong I like CL he is a hell of fun to watch but Silva is a full time complete fighter P4P No1.

Cung Le would open a can on Anderson. Anderson has good footwork but his strikes aren't that powerful. He's able to counterstrike and pepper guys but not cause much damage. Cung's strikes are very short, fast bursts, and his kicks are brutal. It would be a good fight, but I see Cung winning it.

I've seen some of those "light looking" taps he puts on fighters knock them out e.g. his knockout of Travis Griffith. Silva is what i call "heavy handed". I also saw him split a guy's head open and knock him out with a shin kick to the forehead. His bones have got to be dense and strong. Everybody can't do that. Sometimes shin on head doesn't end well for the shin.
