It's actually called 'Accepting the bit." And dressage horse, including Totillas, does it. Notice he is the top dressage horse, and I suppose you all know more than Totilas's rider.
Well, obviosly it looks like the bit is way too big for the horse. Even thugh the rider is pulling in the reins, the bit isn't supposed to be pulled many centimeters out of the mouth, which it does in this film
This is great, people usually just show images of horses with bits and the comments say "yeaaa, but thats just a bad moment!!" and so on... But now they can see how many "bad moments" there actually are...
Yes a bit moves when the rider applies pressure, so what is the point of this clip? This horse dosn't show any signs of discomfort. the horse's posture is indistinguishable from that of a horse riden bit-less
Ouch. Far from subtle half halts on contact followed by a slack rein and a good smack in the mouth. Hey, but at least the flash is tight, so the poor beast has no hope of escape.
The bit's just way too big..

kikiza123 10 months ago

That horse doesn't look insanely uncomfortable. Besides, the rider appears to be "sawing"

one of the down points of this bit is that it can be pulled out quite a bit on the side so i would add rubber rings to the side to prevent this :)

yeah the slack rein ain't so good, but the horse has a really good head position, not rolled into himself or anything!
