  • I have to agree relaxers aggravate the scalp but the time i save versus when i was natural is somewhat of a payoff. I was using nizoral and tgel shampoos but i now use apple cider vinegar, olive oil,tea tree oil, coconut oil and shea butter which has really helped and i wash every 3 -4 days. i use a lye relaxer but am considering a no lye. Enjoyed this vid. Mine usually flares up more in winter.

  • Thanks for sharing I must try these tips

  • I have it all over my face and hai n I look like a hot mess. I sometimes question God why would he give me this but only find myself very depress. I really don't know why else to do

  • Well I was diagnosed with seborrhea capitis, it's around my hair line and behind my ears. It spread to my face! I'm 31 and this just started 3 months ago.The medicine that the Dr. gave me does not work! I use whitch hazel which causemy skin not to flare up. It also feels like something is crawling in my scalp from time to time! But, I was recommended to use KitiKitit which is designed for minor scalp irritations and fungus. Thanks for sharing!

  • @Paqueshia please let me know your results on KITIKITI.. I was planning buying that.. Is your face completely free now?

  • I had this condition . My dr had me wash my hair with pyrione zinc shampoo like head and shoulders undiluted and let shampoo set in my scalp with plastic bag at least 25 minutes. Then wash with the shampoo diluted. Thus shampoo is harsh so u follow up with motions lavish shampoo. I don't put oil on my scalp . My dr told me oil will irritate this condition by further clogging my pores. At first I was washing every 3 days. I wash about once a week now. I also had scales on my face. Thus method w

  • Injections? Wow really? Does it make it go away?

  • I have it also my doctor said it was from oily scalp. I can't put any oil or grease on mmy scalp and my scalp irritates easily. I have to wash my hair a lot which is hard for black hair.

  • @Laceypearls I totally agree, but it is the only way me scalp gets relief and that's by washing. Thanks for watching. Feel free to post any tips you have. Peace!

  • Doctors don't want to help with any of these skin conditions. They just want to cover you in cream, ointments, and salves that don't work.

  • @ame9903 yep! but at the same time there is only so much they can do because its hereditary.

  • @NapsDujour They can give you injections, but they almost always choose not too.

  • @maryg1980 OMG! Hang in there girl, cause I felt just like you. I thought I was the only one with this. Never heard anyone talk about having these symptoms until the YT. I find that using non-sulfate shampoos help and keeping my scalp clean helps to prevent really bad out breaks. Thanks for watching! Keep me posted!

  • @maryg1980 No girl you are not alone, all my life docs were telling me i had eczema but I found out yesterday that it is this thing!!! God I hate it, when I was a kid it was HORRIBLE! I do not get it on my skin anymore, but the lower back of my scalp is annoyed with it! I stopped relaxing my hair 11+yrs ago and it calmed down tremendously, to the point that I forgot I had it! The doc prescribed Olux-E and some other expensive medication! blah! the olux works but that is as far as im going!

  • @maryg1980 nope youre not the only one and for the longest I thought I was. It was so embarrassing back in high school ugh!

  • for me, it has been a problem in diagnosing by a physician. when i found i had it, i went to a dr. the dr couldn't see anything. at that time, it did not spread to my face. I tried another dr, and she said she could not see anything either. next time, i am going to black dermatologist, because they understand black hair. so, i have been suffering with this for ten years. i think once week washing doesn't work for me. i have wash every three days. i went natural before this condition appeared.

  • @hwolovely1203 I think being able to keep your scalp clean and keeping your hair healthy at the same time was the struggle for me and what product to do so. Now I use african soap shampoo and Shea Moistures Restorative Conditioner or the Shea Moistures African Blk Soap Conditioner for my hair and African Blk Soap on my face. Thank you for watching and let me know more tips that has worked for you.

  • I'm still on creamy crack, but trying to stretch into 8-10weeks for growth, but I have dermatitis. I found using non sulfate non paraben shampoos work best. Most of the dandruff, psoriasis, or prescription shampoos all have sulfates and that counteracts the medicine. Natural brands like Burt Bees, Avalon organics, or most major brands that have a "color treated hair" formula, those formulas are usually non sulfate.

  • @Lapreghiera continued: Once my hair is dry and styled, I use a little sulfur8 on just my scalp, and I can go a week no itch, no flakes, no scales. If you have it on face/body- change your soap/cleanser/body wash to non sulfate and follow with a witch hazel rub down.

    God Bless.

  • @Lapreghiera OMG, Thanks so much for all your info, it is very helpful. Peace & Blessings!

  • I don't know why some articles say it's worse in the winter, it's always been worse for me in the summer because that's when I produce more sebum so my skin is oilier. I went natural 5 years ago mainly because of this condition. It does help you're so right. For me my scalp actually bleed when I scratched and had a perm but now its easier still a struggle though

  • @lasoreal I totally agree, the struggle is a little bit easier. I have good weeks and bad weeks. Where before every week was a bad week. Thanks for watching!

  • Oh really??? I take showers twice a day is that good or bad?? I have tried selsum blue but it made it worse. Right now I use Tressemae and it's better than selsum blue. Well thanks for the tip. Oh and what do you mean by "everything has been trial and error?"

  • @000hopefull When I say that about trial and error, you have to try somethings that may say it is good for dermatitis or psoriasis, and it is but it may not work for you. For example, like I the T-gel shampoo work good for my scalp but it dried my hair out completely to the point of breakage and it is because cause my hair is naturally dry. I needed something different even though it was good for my scalp problem. So you have try different things is all. Hope this helps!

  • so I have that thing and it sucks. I wish that they find a cure soon. I have a question for you. I only have it on my scalp but can it spread out? Please let me know because I am really scared. If you use creams and special shampoos can you sometimes get rid of it? Of course not completely but so you don't get itchy all the time? Thanks for posting up you video.

  • @000hopefull Yes it can get worst, if you are not did anything to treat it. But you can do things to make your symptoms subside, like washing your hair at least once a week using a shampoo that has salicylic acid. If you can wash your hair maybe twice a week. I think one of the main things you want to do is try to keep your scalp and your face clean. Try to keep the build down! I recommend seeing a dermatologist if you can. Everything else so far for me has been trial and error. Hope this helps!

  • @000hopefull yea like she said it can spread. Mine spreaded to my back and now some is on my shoulder. If you go to the doc and they prescribe desonide lotion have a ball it helped me but once I quit using it it stopped. As for ketaconozole you do not want to use that if you have dry hair already it made parts of my hair break off and although I fixed the breakage it thinned my hair.

  • I have SD on my face and I am struggling. I believe food and pollen allergies plus my hormones from pregnancy. Glad I'm not the only one who suffers from it. :)

  • @Beautifulgoddess117 IKR, it can be the pits too. Sometimes embarassing for me. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any tips and keep me posted. Thanks for watching. Peace!

  • thanks for the information i think i might have something similar did you say around the ears and forehead as well? cause thats where i have like dry patches and flaky skin.

  • @TrOyLiN25 Yes, around my hair line, napeof my neck, and my behind my ears. It could be psoriasis, eczema, or dermatis. You might want to contact a physician for a diagnosis, so that you can properly treat it. The good thing is that most of the items you can use, usually works for all three. Hope this is helpful. Keep me posted! Thanks for watching, darling.
