now you see, this is one of the reasons why ronnie is my favorite member of the band. he's not so damn arrogant like flowers, and he just seems like such a chill dude. and he's also a bad fuckin ass drummer. unlike flowers, ronnie didn't say "i think sam's town is one of the greatest albums of all time" he just simply stated that he feels that they were able to work harder on sam's town than they did on hot fuss. btw i like the killers, i just think that brandon flowers is too cocky
@skillzdatkillz900 You know, not many people notice that song. I know exactly what you mean. That song was for a long time, my favorite. Then I realized you can have one favorite song by the Killers. You just have to love all of them.
Hot Fuss was as hit because it was unusual. It is glamorous and energetic and catchy and upbeat, even songs like Smile Like You Mean it are real singalong type songs. And Sam's Town wasn't that, at all. I really didn't like it anywhere near as much as Hot Fuss.
I don't understand why Sam's Town wasn't as successful as Hot Fuss... ST is their best album to date. Its songs are much more deep and meaningful, not to mention just better musically. I mean I love Hot Fuss, it's a classic to be sure, but Sam's Town really is, as Brandon said, one of the best albums of all time.
Under the Gun was the b-side to Somebody Told Me which came out 2004, before this interview. The version on Sawdust wasn't the first time they recorded it :)
Actually Under The Gun is on the special edition of Hot Fuss. Which I got without realizing it so I just assumed it was part of it. ;) I giggled when he said that :D
I'll listen to Hot Fuss and think "This is just pure brilliance", and then listen to Sam's Town and think exactly the same. I honestly can't compare the two.
I think its alright when people say they love the killers but only love like one or two songs.
i mean dont get me wrong i love like everrrrry single song on all their albums but its okay if people only like the few theyve heard. theyre still allowed to say they love the killers. cos its true.. the killers are AMAZING.
I always go back and forth over which album of theirs I like the best. When I'm listening to Sam's Town, I think it's the best, and then I hear a Hot Fuss song and I'm like wait maybe this one is the best...
The only conclusion I can come to is they're all amazing in their own way, and can't really be compared
I love The Killers but ever since they changed their sound after Hot Fuss i slightly disliked their music, its sound got dull and boring and vocals got lazy with Sam's Town. With the release of Day & Age I started listening to their music again. But overall, Hot Fuss was their best album and they should have stayed with that style of music.
i get so annoyed at people who only like the singles that are played on the radio 50 times a day, like Human. its an amazing song, but if people actually like the band, they wont just like one hit single.
omg i totally agree like people hear only human or mr brightside and their like have you heard of the killers i love them and im like yeah theyre my favorite band what songs do you know and they just say mr brightside or somebody told me and stuff. blehh!
I agree totally. Although it is hilarious when someone says 'I really like the killers!' then you say 'what's your favourite song?' then they say 'human!' and then, in the most sarcastic, childish voice ever, you ask 'is that the only song you've heard?'. Then there's a really awkward silence from them.

The Killers are clearly the best band in the world ATM.
I love both albums but I think hot fuss is better. The energy in that album is amazing...it seems really pure. Sams Town seems more forced by other people's opinions...
I trust The Killers will always have good songs on each album but never as remarkable as in Hot Fuss. You can't really compare the two albums, Hot Fuss seems like an english band behind it's recording and Sam's town an american one, they're both awesome in their own way
I've never seen Jason Lee and Ronnie Vannucci in the same room before.
