  • Does anyone know if the band has recorded anything new???

  • Wow! Haven't seen this in along time. Still holds up. I wish MTV still had 120 minutes. Heck, I wish they still showed music videos period!

  • I want to be 17 again so I can relive hearing this for the first time on KROQ.

  • One of the best things about the 90's was being able

to see bands like WP in a small room in Philly with 20 people.

  • GLAD I GREW UP IN THE 90'S....THEY DON'T MAKE ALTERNATIVE MUSIC LIKE THIS ANYMORE-THANKS OLD SCHOOL 120 MIN. & BVMEMOTV

  • GOLF WANG

    OFWGKTA B!TCH

  • trenenda voz un temazo grande wolfgang press

  • What an ABSOLUTELY COOL song!

  • Sounds like a cross between INXS and the crash test dumies

  • @zobazoba69 No offense, but your range of musical references is apparently very limited if that's all you hear in this.

  • What a pity that amazing bands like WP never made it. The world is full of morons or as i like to call them musically retarted. The Press broke the mold for a thousand other bands that made it big.

  • chiiiiiiillllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeedddddddddddd my ffriendzzzzzz. de iceman

  • Perfect.

  • Always loved this band,,,

  • love this... first saw them at the old dingwalls in camden lock. 1989. absolutely bRILLIant.. birdwood cage.

    Favorite band ever.

  • Hi rose, I'm an aquaintace of your Dad's. my name is Daniel. my brother and I are friends of Robin Guthrie's of the Cocteau Twins. I was in a band called The Veldt at the time. I remember going to the prtobello hotel with Him Roddy Frame Ian Macllouch from the Bunnymen. I had my 1st drink ever with these guys. I miss them dearly. I believe 4ad was nver the same after they became americanized. Please send my regards to him!

  • Love Wolfgang Press.. I first heard them on a CBC radio show that came on Sunday Nights that featured Euro Beat music... This was the late 80's.. There was no where near where I lived to buy their music but I never forgot!

  • Good seeing this lot again. Saw them live 5 times from the "Burden of Mules" days to their (radically different) "Funky Little Demons" stuff. Michael Allen was a great frontman !!!

  • The band were released from 4AD for going on a spending spree, they bought some cd's and charged it to 4 AD, allegedly . Their sales also took a dip too, shame as at the time they were the longest serving band. Ah 4AD alas is the same without Ivo.

  • Naughty, naughty. I'm only disappointed that they didn't make it more worthwhile: some guitars, a limo, a six course French nosh-up, etc. Just some bloody CD's? Quel dommage!

  • This lot were just too good for your average moron. I even loved the darker early stuff and when they changed their style, that worked too. I'll never forget seeing them at The Shadow in KC when they were touring for the Queer album. They played "Shut That Door" and it blew my head off! Also loved Funky Little Demons (especially Executioner).

Nice to see some fans about! Thanks for posting the vid.

  • @steelyman08 I was there - and it WAS fantastic!

  • @Skinnerboxxxx

That's so cool!! They opened (or followed up) for the Charlatans UK (right?). Small world, eh? (-:

Used to love that club on Alternative night. Take care.

  • The Coolest!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thank you for posting, I love these guys, what an awesome groove!

  • Why have a couple of WolfgangPress vids been pulled???-absolutely no chance of being seen anywhere else-how stupid!!-YouTube is going downhill fast!!!

  • michael allen is my dad

i agree he did a few years of music

    and now he's history

he still does music alot though with andrew

    and was in copenhagen recently

did anyone get to see that?

nice to know he has so many great fans :)

  • Hi Rose! Greetings to your Great dad!!!!

I am Wolfgang Press fan from Bulgaria since 1987 !!! I was not he only one in that, there...:)

Haven't seen his recent work, but I 'm sure it would be interesting!!!!

I still remember his lyrics "Cut the Tree"...so great!!!

    Take care

  • Definite fan - wish I'd seen them then, hope there are more chances. Stumbled onto them about a dozen yrs ago along with Morphine, Cocteau Twins, Massive Attack, MC 900ft Jesus and Martin, Medesky & Wood. Ok, now I have to go put together a playlist... thanks very much for keeping this up, and eternal gratitude to your dad for his music!

  • Hi Rose, Queer is an extraordinary album! After its release it was quite popular and played at Prague´s Radio 1 - an independent radio station (at that time the radio was called Radio Stalin!) that still exists and still remains indie...there are no playlists whatsoever..the DJ´s play what they want to. I have been wondering where did Wolfgang Press disappear. Take care and be proud of your Dad´s music. Cheers Jakub

  • Heard this in '92 and rushed out to buy a used tape. Still have it. It's a good album.

  • When I first discovererd the Wolfgang Press I liked how "dark" they were, sort of like Bauhaus/Skinny Puppy kind of music. When I later heard "Queer" I was amazed at how a band can travel so easily from one music style to another. They are a very talented group!

  • There´s not similitude between the wolfgang and skinny puppy...!!!

  • The Best.

  • very nice.

  • One of my top ten bands of all time& this track one their best-funky,gloomy&groovy in the same breadth.

Criminally underated and under-exposed-another Great british band now history.....

  • what happened to the Mama Told Me Not To Come video ? THAT was fn incredible ....

  • Great name; inspired from the German film actor Wolfgang Preiss.

  • A hidden gem.

  • What a absolutely brilliant band, I have loved them from the very beginning.

  • This song made my summer in '92. So good to hear this again, thanks for posting the video (which I've never seen until now).

  • This cd (Queer) is excellent. Sucker is a fun song.

  • @BluePedal I think I'll pop in the tape right now!

  • There was a good, eerie video for WP's "Raintime" back in the late 1980s. Remember it from MTV's 120 Minutes.

Anyone on Youtube got a clip of "Raintime"?

  • Damn good song. Thanks for putting this up!

  • Michael Allen is now in a great group called GENIUSER. He has an album called "Mud Black", it's truly excellent. Andrew Gray has a group called The Limehouse Outlaw, also excellent. Mr. Cox has gone missing, by all accounts...?

  • Great info, thanks!
