  • You had to take out that Celebration music and replaced it with the regular TPiR theme. Right?

  • I wish some of these would get released on dvd and yes I agree the commercials make the experience complete. When not in school, I watched this with my grandpa from 1990 til 1997 when he died. We used to bet everyday on the big wheel. For everyone who got a dollar, he'd give me a dollar and if they got a 2nd one, I'd get 2. The most I think I ever walked away with in one day was 3 dollars I think but I never got more than 5 a week. In the early 90's, 5 dollars was a lot of money to a young kid.

  • Does anyone recognize the couple with child at the intro of the showcase showdown? :)

  • Loved Rod in that Fairy Godmother costume! "Which one that last one? Wasn't she lovely? Everyone makes mistakes."

  • The CBS pages are wearing blue jackets. I thought the jackets were red.

  • What was the song in the video?

  • @MrAamigo Celebration. I had to take that out because too much of it was used.

  • Not stupid question ;-) We actually went to Rome first and then six months later, Hawaii. For a variety of reasons we simply forfeited the trip to Japan. We were not allowed to transfer the trip. As a side note, TPIR gave us the hook-up. Everything was wonderful on both trips!

  • The girl in the video who won the showcases, etc is me. My nephew dug this up and gets such a kick out of watching it all these years later. It was pretty cool to get the car without one number wrong! My husband was a huge help. We were out in CA celebrating our first wedding anniversary. :-) It was the most memorable to date...21 1/2 happy years later.

  • @auntsteph38 That's awesome. Glad you could relive a truly great moment. :-)

  • @gamelover1949 Thank you for posting it. My family is loving watching it again.

  • @auntsteph38 Stupid question but - it looked like the prize was Hawaii, Italy then Japan. Did you go in that order or streamline by going one way around the world?

  • @auntsteph38 That's really great that you won all of that, *and* congrats on 21 1/2 years of marriage. Can't believe 1991 was nearly that long ago already lol. Too bad that you couldn't take the Japan trip, but hey, easily made up with everything else. I'm surprised Bob didn't say "How many times has a contestant gotten all numbers right on the first try?" haha. Congratulations again...what a perfect way to celebrate an anniversary, especially first.

  • Did Bob say CB Ass at 2:11?

  • That lottery ad at 30:24 used a TPIR music cue!

  • He had that range stopped at 5045, so the awarded win was right on.

  • omg, that computer retails for over $1,500?!

  • The think the daytime Wheel of Fortune had entered its final week on NBC thAT WEEK.

  • @tpir1972 And Classic Concentration too.

  • Doesn't Lester Strong look shockingly like a young Samuel L. Jackson? Also, this was a great episode and thank you for keeping the adverts in...that's half the fun n my opinion!

  • Your welcome.

  • I love these blasts from the past <3

  • I like Dian's hair up.

  • Great episode. Thanks for posting.

Channel 7 replaced the CBS Newsbreak with a tease for the local newscast.

  • Your welcome.

  • @gamelover1949

3:42 Pay close attention. Is Kathleen clicking her heels?

34:10 That would make for a fantastic facepalm shot for future commentaries of mine!

53:27 That Ex-Lax commercial aired as recently as 2004.

  • What a wonderful dedication!

  • Thank you kindly.

  • NICE! A contestant was on stage, from WUSA/WBAL-TV territory.

  • The D.C./Baltimore area, if I'm correct.

  • @gamelover1949 Respectively, at the time, yeah.

  • @gamelover1949

    3:42

It appears that Kathleen is clicking her heels! She must be secretly thinking, "I don't wanna be here...I want to go home, NOW!!!" XDDD

  • I miss when they showed a still shot of the winner they won a pricing game

  • She got Right on the Nose on the 1st pricing game

  • Great Episode!

  • With regard to Grocery Game, as Bob would say in 2002, "It pays to watch The Price is Right!"

  • I remember a Grocery game Playing with the Shell Game Sign, Do you have that episode.

  • It just occured to me. That date reminds me of a full house in "Poker Game". Two nines, and three ones.

  • If only I was that good at poker. :-D

  • It seems that for the last year they used the green turntable borders and carpeting, they switched the Showcase podiums (normally during the 1982-2003 era, the top winner was behind the purple podium, and the runner-up was behind the orange podium).

  • I remember Bob Barker's guest appearance on Futurama in 2000, in an episode where Fry, Leela, and Bender are trying to locate a rare gem, the prize for the winner of the beauty pageant that Bob's hosting. "Do you brain-dead space jockeys have any idea how much that thing is worth"? "$100,000"? "$200,000"? "$200,001"? "You're closest without going over".

    That computer looks PRIMITIVE!

  • Indeed; I probably had a similar computer around that time.

  • @gamelover1949 yeah that was sad for the people who died on 9/11/01

  • I have just three words for the first pricing game...

    UN

    FREAKING

    BELIEVABLE!

  • It sure was; I couldn't believe it myself.

  • No problem.

  • will you be adding old school tpir from time to time

  • Depends on how I feel; I'm random about what shows I upload.
