On a tangent; I bought my current main axe, a 1976 Yairi, because there was heavy wear on the soundboard right by the sound hole under the 1st string. I knew immediately that this guitar was owned by a fellow fingerstylist. :)

Not to diminish (ehehe) anyone but i think this technical piece by Gareth conveys heck more emotion than many other pieces by some CandyRat artists; who seem to believe that tapping a harmonic each 5 seconds makes a tune - written in an open tuning with almost no chord changes in it - bearable to listen to. McKee, DuFour and many others are on another level, but there are also many cases where I wonder if they've even learned the basics before going with that certain style.

I really think the kid is talented, especially for his age, but music isn't all about technicality. If you want to do solo acoustic like him, you at least a need band or some lyrics. Many will disagree but I don't feel much through his guitar alone, only some cool sounds, no story or emotion. I know many guitarists like Tommy Emmanuel endorse him as being a musical genius, but I don't care how fast you can play that guitar or how tech savy you are. A lot of talent but not a lot of character.
