beautiful horse and good job! I don't really care what you do (whether you wear a helmet or not) but that strap hanging near its legs did look a little dangerous. It could have gotten wrapped around her leg or she could have tripped. Awesome job though!
Yes Its alot safer to wear a helmet. But oh well, she wants to risk her life oh well, alot of stuff could happen.Get over it :p if it was a kid id be more concerned, but this girl can make her own decisions

Dang people, if you believe in wearing a helmet than do so. Quit nagging about it to those who don't wear a helmet, it's their choice. People who worry about other's being hurt are the reason so many of us have unwanted restrictions placed on us. Life was so good before the do-gooders decided to tell the rest of us what was and wasn't good for us.
why do horsey people whinge about everything they see on youtube? sorry but every horse riding video i see people commenting whinging bitching or nit picking about something or other..we all need to chill out! this person looks like an adult, if it were a child jumping without a hat or an adult putting a child in danger then i would completely agree with you, but the person looks like a grown up-its their risk an if they break their head open its their own darn fault! chill ppl!
People who ride western dont usually wear a helmet anyway. Its really only English riders who do. And its her choice. By the way, the horse is beautiful!
oh for gods sake people if this chick is good enough to attempt jumping BAREBACK i think she can handle herself on a horse to the point where she doesn't entirely need the helmet.
I love it when i get to jump Bareback ON MY 11 year old Paint/Barrel horse gelding . I nNEVER wear a helmet when riding not even when i go around theree barrels at about 35 mph.So you know I think to each her own.
Guys, i'm pretty sure this person knows about helmets. If they wanted to wear one, they would. I'm not saying people shouldn't wear helmets, but if doing that jump wasn't enough to convince her to wear a helmet, do you really think that you lot telling her to wear one is going to change her mind? Worry about your own actions, they're the only ones you can change :P
Everybody just needs to mind there own buisness. Is it your buisness to tell her she needs a helmet, or she could die, NO! It's her decision COMPLETLEY unless you knew her personally, she might care. So quit wasting your time, writing long comments about how she should be more careful, or how she isn't riding the way you ride. It's rude, and completely annoying, to her and others! Thank you :)
Wow, you certainly look dead, people have died far worse deaths when they have had helmets on than without! I ride my horse TACKLESS, completely tackless not a headcollar or bridle or saddle in sight! We jump and do all sorts.
It's called trust, horses change when you take hats off, they respect that you trust them to take care of you. My guys do and english roads are alot more dangerous than american!!
@xXeMokiDXxMCRXx so it's a trust issue when your horse slips and you fall ? why can't accept the statistics , I'm sure you're really very nice but not wearing a hat is pure ignorance . a dressage rider fell and is in a coma , and a dressage horse and its rider have such a strong bond but if a horse get's jabbed in the mouth by the rider by accident it's going to literally flip and crush the rider , thats not trust that is the horses basic instinct . please for your own safety , just wear a hat
@hanaxcb Shit happens, if you are gonna go you are gonna go, a hat didn't save jessica losing her life in that accident at 15 yrs old. Nothing can stop it if you are going to go that day.
I have been riding without a hat for years and never had any serious accidents., I could have, but EVERY ASPECT of horse riding is dangerous, just sitting on a horse with a hat and body protector could have you killed if the horses leg gives way or something. If a horse lands on you a hat won't save you. No.
@xXeMokiDXxMCRXx i know but I can speak about this with personal experiance , i fell badly off a horse i was riding when she spooked over a corner jump , she bolted and i landed on her neck and landed on the side of my head from a gallop before rolling onto my back , that body protector saved my life and my hat saved me from severe concussion , i still have sand pressed into the back of my body protector from where i landed . hats do save lives .. body protectors save lives . it saved mine
@hanaxcb I'm guessing you think I have never had a serious accident and I am a silly child? Nope, horse trainer. I have been thrown underneath a horse, snapped both collarbones, smashed all my ribs and gashed my whole right side of my body, was in hospital in critical condition on comatose alert the whole night woken up every 2 hours. It permanently damaged my back that was healing after being severly damaged in a car crash. I am now in constant pain. Wasn't wearing a hat, but yet I'm alive?
@hanaxcb not that i train horses hatless, when training for clients i have a hat and body protector on, I don't know them nor what they are capable of, but I will always not wear a hat on my horses. I only wear a body protector for hunter trials/cross country/hunting, can't stand the things.
if you know how to fall you dont need a helmet, practice by stacking 2or 3 bales and doing the proper landing and you wont have trouble, and a helmet might help some but it still knocks you in the head which can still cause a concusion, broken neck, or serious neck/head injuries only way to prevent is to practice
@Upsette99 If you could care less then why even bring it up? It doesn't even matter. Besides if you're wearing a helmet you can't wear your cowgirl hat ;)
Now make a helmet that looks exactly like a cowgirl hat then we'll see.
fail. You guys are too busy screaming at her to- "WEAR A HELMET! WEAR A HELMET!" that you screwups don't realize that the "DONT WEAR A HELMET" comments, aren't going to change her mind. You phsycopaths got too caught up in a helmet argument to realize how beautiful that jump was
@Upsette99 Oh so I see you're one of those annoying and aggravating ones. They aren't going to start wearing a helmet cause some person on YouTube whined to them about it. It's their risk not yours.
@MaeyandTimmylove ive been riding for five yer and ive fallen off a few times . it would have been safer if she had a helmet. but some horses can get spooked do something rong and u can fall off
I find it easier bareback if I lean back more than usual. It does help to grip with your legs though. I've cantered bareback and jumped with no stirrups, but always forget to grip with my legs so they fly around everywhere which isn't good. Amazing jump!
I know everyone is saying this. I also know this is getting annoying, but wear a helmet please. I can tell that she's a great rider, but I'm not so bad myself. I've been riding for years and I still wear a helmet. By not wearing a helmet you make less experienced riders think it's okay and they get hurt. My friend thought that and after one bad fall she could never ride again.
Calm ya farm peeps, She wouldnt have done it without a helmet if she didnt have trust in the horse, I mean watch carefully, She has it completely under control before, during and after the jump,.
it's your choice not to wear a helmet, even though it's a good idea. i'm a huge helmet advocate but at the same time if you're at a show that I'm at and you're not wearing a helmet, you're not hurting me, only yourself.
Di you hear about that biker who was on a ride protesting about having to wear helmets? He crashed and died, what would have saved his life? You guessed it haha. I do think that helmets are important - not just in jumping, look at those dressage riders who have recently been killed by head injuries while schooling with no helmet
I know it's the rider's own choice, but I at least can hope that you wear a helmet when there are younger riders around, because if they do something without a helmet on and get hurt, owch
To all the people that are saying the rope (REINS) are going to trip the horse, they can just shut up because they are too high for the horse to get it's feet in!!!
@jasminerebeccagray SHUT up if you know your horse and are a good rider you can stay on, but sometimes there are freak accidents it is not the horses fault you should really be quite!!
@MerryandTimmylove I never said it's the horses fault whatsoever, even professionaljumpers fall off sometimes, it only takes a slight movement to take you off balance and land on your head? and its worse if theres a higher place to fall from
helmets are the discression of the rider. The rope on the other hand could have tripped your horse. Did it happen no. That's called luck. Or chance. COULD it happen. Yes. Do you want it to happen. I would hope no. Awesome video, good for you for jumping the block, but for the safety of the horse, I'd watch the rope :)
My goodness ppl stop worrying about the horse stepping on the reins!!!! It's not your horse!! Your not riding and see how this is a video.. That means it's from the past!!!!! Great job by the way love the horse
if this person trusts her horse it wouldnt matter, and its probably rode in this same areana millions of times so its not going to spook at anything, so leave her alone she knows what shes doing, but that rope wasnt even close to her horses feet, in fact the wind was blowing it up. so stop judging her, i would love to see you guys go full pelt towards a jump bareback, some people even ride with no, helmet, saddle, bridal. k.
@PrincexPaygo it doesn't matter hoe many times she's ridden it or how much she trusts it anything could happenend that horse can easily step on the rope even without a mistake the wind could blow it or it could move...and experienced rider like everyone says she is wouldn't take any chances with their horse
People also doesnt likes it if you dont wear a helmet.
Saddle, bridle ok, because its more comfy for the horse, it doesnt hurts anybody.
But the rope is infact dangerous. If the horse stepped on it, itwould pull on his mouth, giving him probably injuries, horse will freak out, buck off the rider and could step on the rider. Rider would be badly injured.
Enough? No?
The rope infact was near his front feet, just a blow of the wind toward the feet, would make the horse step on it.
@squirttle92 Indeed, it is, but the internet is not made for children. Yes, since youtubers have a podium they should use it better, however everybody yelling 'you HAVE to wear a helmet' is not helping the situation and it's none of their business.
@LoganLermanLuv3r Did not know that... But obviously without a saddle, right? The horn would get in the way and stab you in the belly! But some English bridles have no noseband, not only Western :)
@GainingBananas i no i sometimes ride without one when im doing showhunter b/c i ride in a grackle 4 xtra control but i only say that b/c she dropped the reins and they were really long and looked like they were tied. sorry 4 the miscommunication
Oh brother, could everybody please just STOP nagging about the helmet?! Yes it's safer, I think everybody in the horse world knows that, they (we, for that matter) choose not to wear one and accept that something could happen. Sheesh, stop trying to get into people's business you guys. D:
@RosemaryNapier There are many young people on YouTube who are easily influenced. Riding with a helmet isn't just for the protection of the rider - it's also good role modelling.
Very pretty horse but you should wear a helmet and get the extra reins out of the way. He could trip and your not wearing a helmet so both of you could get injured. . .
I don't want to make people mad, but it shouldn't matter what age or experience you are, you should always were a helmet. I know its the riders own opinion, but someone can (and has) gotten really hurt from not wearing one so just a heads up.
Honestly, if youre an adult, you should get to decide if you want to wear a helment. It really isnt anyone elses business. By the way, great vid! You have a great seat on that horse
why is everyone saying to put a helmate on? Its not nessary to wear one and it makes people look really stupid. I never wear a helmate when I ride my horse, and nothing horrible has ever happened.
@SpookRunner You say it looks stupid, but a person who gets a concussion from getting thrown without a helmet on looks stupid too. Maybe it’s not necessary, and it looks silly, but it’s better to be safe than look good.
@SpookRunner well ovbiously you've never heard of the thousands of people who've died from head trauma just because of a little fall. better safe than sorry.
haha helmet isnt that big a deal i did the same thing with my horse before i got real jumps i jumped the neighbors fence and anything else bare and helmetless. lol by the way i like your horse nice jumper
Roadblock and roadblock, madam ... I'd call that a red-and-white jump. But well done. Personally though, I'd get a helmet on. I just smashed my own helmet (as well as my collarbone) getting a small horse on top of me. Sometimes you just can't do shit, the ground is gonna come and hit you in the face with a club and there's naught you can do to prepare yourself for it.
@horsesRmylife9399 I'm sorry luv, but there's no road in sight, and it's not blocking anything. Ergo, it's not a roadblock. It's a black-and-white JUMP.
no it is a roadblock but they took is off the road...we hasve construction going on at my street and there are 3 of those saying "strret closed" and stuff like that
no it is a roadblock but they took is off the road...we hasve construction going on at my street and there are 3 of those saying "streat closed" and stuff like that
@Nizingur I agree , its kinda funny actually(not really ) ,i just had an accident and broke my collar bone and it was just "supposed " to be a walk and trot ride , you never know what can happen ,even if its gonna be a "little ride " so much can happen :( Luckly i was wearing a helmet though :D
@ellieamysnooprox Oh gawd I know! That ride where I broke my collarbone was actually the nicest ride of the summer. It was SO AWESOME! And this little pony was just plodding around so trustworthy. It was a week before I signed the contract for my new horse and so of course I haven't ridden him at all since I got him. Did you have surgery or not? I did, it was sooo painful afterward! And my helmet was cracked too, SO SCARY!!!
@Nizingur aww ! im sorry ! i hope you get to ride your new horse soon ! I havent had surgery (Yet) because they keep on saying come back in 6 weeks .... even though the x-ray looks very munted , i know how you feel i cant ride either for ages its been weeks and weeks and at the end of it all i might have to have the surgery ! its gonna be agess !! my helmet wasnt cracked , but it was damaged on the inside , i was thrown over a gate onto the driveway and i was knocked out, it is very SCARY !
@ellieamysnooprox Oh my gosh, I feel so sorry for you! That must REALLY suck. At least I had a clean break of it. The two pieces of my collarbone were overlapping by about an inch and sticking up 45 degrees so there was no questioning of surgery thankfully, but I'm Norwegian and because of the Utøya massacre the op was postponed 4 days in total. I really hope you heal up well though. Cripple-high five!! :D
@eastie3peastie i agree that is one magnificent horse alright im not being rude but do you think its dangerous to jump with rein hanging down by the horses leg? or are they special kinds of reins and dont get tngled? :) not being unfriendley just askingxx
@misspalousepony Um, it can be. I don't ride with split reins (I don't have any anyway =P ) You can also just tie the ends together and that would help. But since the reins aren't tied together, the horse can't step through them so it's sort of an advantage. It just depends. If you drop one rein then it's harder to get it back because they're seperate. And split reins are more a western thing. The horse is wearing more of a western bridle, because it doesn't have a cavason (noseband).
That horse is so beautiful! You're very lucky. :) My pinto pony developed arthritis, so I can't ride him anymore, but I still love him. Their spots are practically identical, but mine is a bay instead of that pretty dun color. xD

woah! that horse gotta huge jump
horsecrazyjhair 4 months ago
Di you hear about that biker who was on a ride protesting about having to wear helmets? He crashed and died, what would have saved his life? You guessed it haha. I do think that helmets are important - not just in jumping, look at those dressage riders who have recently been killed by head injuries while schooling with no helmet
MoNgOoSeSxiNxmYxbEd 4 months ago 24
I know it's the rider's own choice, but I at least can hope that you wear a helmet when there are younger riders around, because if they do something without a helmet on and get hurt, owch
xXkeyotaXx 4 months ago
@xXkeyotaXx I completely agree.

To all the people that are saying the rope (REINS) are going to trip the horse, they can just shut up because they are too high for the horse to get it's feet in!!!

BIG HORSE + BIG JUMP + NO HELMET = EARLY DEATH.
Simple mathematics.

@jasminerebeccagray SHUT up if you know your horse and are a good rider you can stay on, but sometimes there are freak accidents it is not the horses fault you should really be quite!!
MerryandTimmylove 4 months ago
@MerryandTimmylove I never said it's the horses fault whatsoever, even professionaljumpers fall off sometimes, it only takes a slight movement to take you off balance and land on your head? and its worse if theres a higher place to fall from
jasminerebeccagray 3 months ago
@jasminerebeccagray No to mention the split reins flapping about by the horse's legs...

what a beautiful horse ^_^
BabyBlueBell05 4 months ago
helmets are the discression of the rider. The rope on the other hand could have tripped your horse. Did it happen no. That's called luck. Or chance. COULD it happen. Yes. Do you want it to happen. I would hope no. Awesome video, good for you for jumping the block, but for the safety of the horse, I'd watch the rope :)
Enjoy riding :D

What breed is your horse :O So pretty!
TheRosesBlood 5 months ago
if this person trusts her horse it wouldnt matter, and its probably rode in this same areana millions of times so its not going to spook at anything, so leave her alone she knows what shes doing, but that rope wasnt even close to her horses feet, in fact the wind was blowing it up. so stop judging her, i would love to see you guys go full pelt towards a jump bareback, some people even ride with no, helmet, saddle, bridal. k.
PrincexPaygo 5 months ago
@PrincexPaygo it doesn't matter hoe many times she's ridden it or how much she trusts it anything could happenend that horse can easily step on the rope even without a mistake the wind could blow it or it could move...and experienced rider like everyone says she is wouldn't take any chances with their horse
happyhorse362 5 months ago
@PrincexPaygo
ChibiSugar 4 months ago
if that horse stood on that rope....you could be paralysed....or dead wear a helmet it can save lives other than that you were really good
0123iloveyouforever 5 months ago
@squirttle92 Indeed, it is, but the internet is not made for children. Yes, since youtubers have a podium they should use it better, however everybody yelling 'you HAVE to wear a helmet' is not helping the situation and it's none of their business.

R u a western rider?
LoganLermanLuv3r 5 months ago
@LoganLermanLuv3r If they're jumping, clearly not :P
GainingBananas 5 months ago
@GainingBananas some western riders jump!!! I do
also look at her bridle
LoganLermanLuv3r 5 months ago
@LoganLermanLuv3r Did not know that... But obviously without a saddle, right? The horn would get in the way and stab you in the belly! But some English bridles have no noseband, not only Western :)
GainingBananas 5 months ago
@GainingBananas i no i sometimes ride without one when im doing showhunter b/c i ride in a grackle 4 xtra control but i only say that b/c she dropped the reins and they were really long and looked like they were tied. sorry 4 the miscommunication

Jo4313 5 months ago
Oh brother, could everybody please just STOP nagging about the helmet?! Yes it's safer, I think everybody in the horse world knows that, they (we, for that matter) choose not to wear one and accept that something could happen. Sheesh, stop trying to get into people's business you guys. D:
RosemaryNapier 5 months ago
@RosemaryNapier There are many young people on YouTube who are easily influenced. Riding with a helmet isn't just for the protection of the rider - it's also good role modelling.
squirttle92 5 months ago
Very pretty horse but you should wear a helmet and get the extra reins out of the way. He could trip and your not wearing a helmet so both of you could get injured. . .
HorseshoeStables11 5 months ago
I don't want to make people mad, but it shouldn't matter what age or experience you are, you should always were a helmet. I know its the riders own opinion, but someone can (and has) gotten really hurt from not wearing one so just a heads up.

why is everyone saying to put a helmate on? Its not nessary to wear one and it makes people look really stupid. I never wear a helmate when I ride my horse, and nothing horrible has ever happened.
SpookRunner 6 months ago
@SpookRunner You say it looks stupid, but a person who gets a concussion from getting thrown without a helmet on looks stupid too. Maybe it’s not necessary, and it looks silly, but it’s better to be safe than look good.
TheJisabella 6 months ago
@SpookRunner well ovbiously you've never heard of the thousands of people who've died from head trauma just because of a little fall. better safe than sorry.

Roadblock and roadblock, madam ... I'd call that a red-and-white jump. But well done. Personally though, I'd get a helmet on. I just smashed my own helmet (as well as my collarbone) getting a small horse on top of me. Sometimes you just can't do shit, the ground is gonna come and hit you in the face with a club and there's naught you can do to prepare yourself for it.

horsesRmylife9399 6 months ago
@horsesRmylife9399 I'm sorry luv, but there's no road in sight, and it's not blocking anything. Ergo, it's not a roadblock. It's a black-and-white JUMP.

@Nizingur I agree , its kinda funny actually(not really ) ,i just had an accident and broke my collar bone and it was just "supposed " to be a walk and trot ride , you never know what can happen ,even if its gonna be a "little ride " so much can happen :( Luckly i was wearing a helmet though :D
ellieamysnooprox 6 months ago
@ellieamysnooprox Oh gawd I know! That ride where I broke my collarbone was actually the nicest ride of the summer. It was SO AWESOME! And this little pony was just plodding around so trustworthy. It was a week before I signed the contract for my new horse and so of course I haven't ridden him at all since I got him. Did you have surgery or not? I did, it was sooo painful afterward! And my helmet was cracked too, SO SCARY!!!
Nizingur 6 months ago
@Nizingur aww ! im sorry ! i hope you get to ride your new horse soon ! I havent had surgery (Yet) because they keep on saying come back in 6 weeks .... even though the x-ray looks very munted , i know how you feel i cant ride either for ages its been weeks and weeks and at the end of it all i might have to have the surgery ! its gonna be agess !! my helmet wasnt cracked , but it was damaged on the inside , i was thrown over a gate onto the driveway and i was knocked out, it is very SCARY !
ellieamysnooprox 6 months ago
@ellieamysnooprox Oh my gosh, I feel so sorry for you! That must REALLY suck. At least I had a clean break of it. The two pieces of my collarbone were overlapping by about an inch and sticking up 45 degrees so there was no questioning of surgery thankfully, but I'm Norwegian and because of the Utøya massacre the op was postponed 4 days in total. I really hope you heal up well though. Cripple-high five!! :D
Nizingur 6 months ago
(P.S. - I broke my collarbone by the horse stumbling and TUMBLING over up a slope at an insane full tilt gallop... Not so fun either hahaha)
Nizingur 6 months ago
what kind of horse is that???
alyandponies1 6 months ago
what is the thing dangling down by his legs is that reins? great jump anyway! :)
misspalousepony 6 months ago
@misspalousepony yeah, those are split reins! And great jump, beautiful horse!
eastie3peastie 6 months ago
@eastie3peastie i agree that is one magnificent horse alright im not being rude but do you think its dangerous to jump with rein hanging down by the horses leg? or are they special kinds of reins and dont get tngled? :) not being unfriendley just askingxx
misspalousepony 6 months ago
@misspalousepony Um, it can be. I don't ride with split reins (I don't have any anyway =P ) You can also just tie the ends together and that would help. But since the reins aren't tied together, the horse can't step through them so it's sort of an advantage. It just depends. If you drop one rein then it's harder to get it back because they're seperate. And split reins are more a western thing. The horse is wearing more of a western bridle, because it doesn't have a cavason (noseband).
eastie3peastie 6 months ago
@eastie3peastie oh yeah i getcha now :))))
