I JUST played this peice for an audition. I am 18, and senior in high school. I can't believe how good this girl is playing this. She played it better than me.
She's a good player, but part of me can't help wondering whether it would be better for her to wait until she has a great sense of musical maturity before attempting to perform Bach? The notes are there and intonation is reasonable, but there is no shape to the piece. It's not her fault, I blame Suzuki (which as a violin teacher, I hate). She'll be a great player if she continues to work on her technique. When she has a greater musical maturity i'd love to listen to her play this piece again.
wow you are deaf if you dont think this piece was not played exceptionally. PS THE SUZUKI METHOD IS THE BEST IN THE WORLD... HOW MANY 19 YEAR OLDs in AMERICNA can play like this let alone 9. she is playing this note for note without sheet music and nails every note... when she gets older and has more control of her finger and her ears develope (kids ears dont hear loud well) she will be a master !
i am also as a teacher don't like suzuki method, though I use its songs along with the traditional method.but you know everything depends on the child.
of course we critisize the 'sweet' girl, we arent judging her on how 'sweet' she is, how stupid to bring that up. That's like saying 'Oh, how can you critisize that person's singing? They are such a sweet person'.
Saying she won't be famous is silly! Many real artists past and present were very late bloomers. Some didn't start til their teens! She will need to work very hard though, but she's on the right track i'd say. Build the perfect sound etc in your head before attempting to execute. Well done, very good work.
Ugh.. I can't stand it when people will say that just because someone is very young that means they shouldn't be critisized at all. Constructive critisism is how you learn on an instrument. I find the comments saying "She's only 8 years old, no one critisize her!" Much more ignorant than som constructive critisism.
As for what I think, I will judge her on her violin playing, not her age.. And I think she's a decent player, not great.. But decent.
Utterly meaningless comment. What's the meaning of decent and great? So unless you're Heifetz you're only decent but not great? People need to learn vocab. beyond limited ones such as "good" and "bad". I see so many Youtubers leave stupid comments such as "Milstein better" or "Oistrakh is the best". Ironically your comment isn't constructive AT ALL. Constructive criticism will be along the line of "she can put greater force on the down beats" etc.
Then you must have a problem. I too hear the out of tune notes, but they are not all over. Again as I have posted on a few of these "young prodigies" there is no emotion as the child has not matured enough to play it emotionally. Suzuki has kids learn to quickly without any emotion at all.
She is okay...but not amazing...there are many younger and more talented violinists than her...She is good, but wont be famous...oh but the violin u made is nice.
If I may say she has something. But she requires more training. But then again it could have been that she was shy to play for an audience hence the some of the sqeekes. But I would have to say that she is very talented. In fact I was just wondering, which Partita this was? I myself have not taken the liberty in looking into the Bach Partitas but this piece has always captivated my interests.
it's the Partita #2-Giga...right before the Chaconne >_<, beastly piece of music. Yea that girl needs more practice to be honest-tone, style, and intonation problems. But she's above the average level within her age group (nice violin btw)
