@jusafaze that what i did to my fish and now when i give him food goes mad and it goes close to my hands when i put my hand in the fish tank.. i have it for 2 years and 3 to 4 weeks .
& my 2 yellow belly turtle chase me sometimes when i get him out, hes 1 year 5 month
is easy if u are experience with any tye of animal and u love it to be friendly
It all depends on how much time you spend with them and how careful you are with them. I would suggest puttin something from your dirty clothes hamper that smells good and ripe so that your monitor will get use to your smell and will be less likely to bite you when held.
love that video mate!! i put my little tegu in the bath the other night and she loved it!!! how long roughly did your monitor take to loose the initial fear of you being around and working with him?
cy29sportped- there poop depends on how much or what they eat, if they eat mice their poop will smell worse, if they eat crickets it wont smell as bad. theyre eating amount depends on the size, male or female, lighting and the time of year. when i got my tegu, relatively the same thing it tended to rub its nose on the glass, but not enough to really hurt it. you cant really network glass aquariums together unless its plastic like a hampsters. u also have to take consideration kepping live food.
hey if i get one do they poop a lot? eat a lot? smell? i have a big tank but i heard that the glass is bad for thier nose, is it? if i connected two or three tanks with tubing are they smart enough to go explore? how long did it take to tame yours? srry so many questions
i have to dissagree i have one now and it only took 10 days to make him happy, (7 days alone in his cage, to make him comfortable and make him feel safe,,,and 3 days in the bathroom with him,,,,, i dont like savs they are ugly
i didnt have to do a lot of reseach, luckily my neighboor used to own one. he tought me how to do things around it and why. so its easy, he is fully tamed now. (dont quote me by saying they cant be domesticated i know they cant)
watch out, i stopped feeding mine goldfish because they're the most diseased thing you can possibly feed them. I've had my nile for like 8 years, and i just got a blackthroat a year ago. Very good looking monitor though =]
