I am a Dad, not a film crew. I only watch the marching band because my sons are in it. I know nothing about marching band and less about drums or this "pit" you speak of. Have your dad make a video of the drums. I'm watching the trumpets and the tubas and not doing a very good job of that either. But, honestly, if I had known people were actually going to be watching this I would have tried to do a better job and provided more equal distribution of the film time. Maybe next year . . .

Based on head to head competitions and substituting comparative scores when NOT head to head. In 2008 at the end of the year Ankeny was the best followed by Waterloo West, Valley, CR Washington, CR Kennedy, Dowling. In Drumlines however Dowling was far better than the others. Kennedy and Waukee close 2nd and 3rd, CR Washington 4th, and the rest. And thats the straight goods.

Can I just say that this was our worst performance EVER.

It was absolutely awful and a lot of bad things happened- we normally perform a lot better than this, so please don't let this make your decision about how good we are. Thanks!

That was a poor performance by Valley. Not their night. I thought if they dragged any more in their closer they would be called for delay of game. For 2,200 students in three classes I expected more. But I do appreciate the ones who are out there competing. Thank you.
