The one thing that baffles me is since he is a police officer, does he have his vehicle modified in any way to allow him to drive comfortably? Or I am guessing he would have to deal with the constant discomfort of driving a normal sized vehicle.

Good question, but I am not sure George Bell has been officially measured but he does look 7-8 in 1:04. If that mattress is 8 feet long, then he is without a doubt 7-8 , but they don't mention that. BTW, Igor Ladan is also a good contender of the tallest man American record. Sadly, the tallest living Canada Jerry Sokoloski is 'only' 7 foot 5.
There are people taller than him living in USA, Sung Ming Ming from China and Aurangzeb Khan from Pakistan the two in known, the first is 7'9'' and the second 8', but in the case of the last, probably false.
