I'm going out tomorrow I'm down from Maine for a working vacation! What a great place and great people! I will be fishing with Capt. Miller of Punta Gorda from what I can see so far he is top notch!
They didn't get hooked? I guess they were just slashing at it. When they're doing that, it's best to throw a subsurface bait, like a DOA Shrimp. I fished on the flats on either side of Charlotte Harbor and caught some REALLY big Stingrays. Actually caught one, but hooked 3 others that escaped. Landed a Cownose and lost 2 Cownose and one Spotted Eagle. Good fight, you need to follow the Ray with the boat and have at least 20 lb test. What else can you get in Charlotte Harbor?

Um... the beginning of the video says the hooks were removed from the Spook topwater.
That's why they didn't "hook up".
