No, he didn't actually give anyone flowers...the whole bit was that before he went to the Digital World, he was supposed to give his stepmom flowers for her birthday, but saw the message on the cellphone about going to Shibuya Station and was basically all, "Well screw this, I don't give a crap about my stepmum anyway." But then he stops being a pathetic jerk around the time he meets his brother Kouichi and decides that when he gets back to the real world he'll get the flowers for his stepmom.
