I live a couple miles from Shasta Dam. I remember that people still went to friday night at the park in Shasta Lake City DESPITE of the smoke enshrouding the area, myself included!!!
at the time the fires were going on my sister in law was pregnant, in which helped her decide on a name for her newborn baby boy, Jolon. which means valley of the dead oak. and at the time there were dead and burnt trees everywhere.
Nice video though. good footage.
It was a very sad time. a lot of people lost their homes.
I live not very far from Shasta Dam in redding, ca.
that shit blows man i live in southern california and yall know that we are next come october southern california should be on fire from the mexican border to somewhere around ventura county
I live in the Bay Area, in Sunnyvale, Ca which is like 45 minutes away from San Francisco and the smoke is even bad here the air smells terrible and I cant even see the hills in the distance from my house anymore(except now I can it just cleared up a few days ago)
I'm in Santa Clara, I know what you mean about the smoke. I remember the live blog chat KRON4 had during the Summit Fire in Santa Cruz, the smell was horrible.
I swear northern california is burning up, the very first fire started just two blocks from my home in Chico on Humbolt road, a month later they are still burning
I know how you feel! My wonderland, my home, where I was born and raised... all on fire. I went out this morning to get more footage, but the smoke is so dense here you can't even see the flames that are close to you.
According to the RS we've got that big plane coming in to help with fire suppression. We've even got folks coming from Maryland!
I hope you will come home to more than just charred remains. Drive safe and rest well, my friend. - Ren

Great Video. Better learn how to spell California

My apologies. A typo that I never even noticed. I promise you that I do know how to correctly spell C-A-L-I-F-O-R-N-I-A.
I cranked that video out just hours after it was shot, so cut me some slack, eh?

How close is the fire getting to Walker Mine Road? I heard last night that the Democrat and Motion fire have merged. IS this correct?
keno1226 3 years ago
I also heard that they had merged. If they haven't, they will. :(
