Wind, solar, bio is the way to disaster. For a fraction of the cost of these boondoggles, we can repower america on liquid fluoride thorium reactors (LFTR) while becoming energy independent and eliminating the need for oil and reducing our C02 output to a net negative.

I'd like to see 18 wheelers, 747s, and container ships be run on solar panels and windmills.
Oh, and hybrids/electric cars are a fail too. The dumbass environmentalist wackos think they're a panacea, but the problem is that the rare earth minerals used to construct them are in a much shorter supply than oil and nearly all of it is found in China.

British Petroleum was promoting a similar credit to profit off carbon offsets and force consumers to "Go Green," or face hefty fines.
Ever notice how BP's public posturing as an "Eco-Friendly Oil Company" who profits off Carbon Climate Exchanges, is now suddenly silent?
BP once even lobbied in DC for a 'Global Green Income Tax Initiative' that would PAY "Green Certified" companies a portion of all taxes every man, woman & child pays in the world.
NOT a peep since BP DESTROYED the GULF OF MEXICO.
We import something like 70 percent of our oil. But windmills and solar arent going to cut it. Neither is the growing of fuel crops that are starving approx. 10 million people a year conservatively. There is better alternatives the goverment will not tell us about. Its big oil companies and business concerns that they care about. Im not sure though that a spill regardless of the size should mean stop doing domestic drilling.
@lickss oil will run out, either way. so we're going to have to switch to something whether we like it or not. and "we just can't" is not really a solution.
ps. algae biodiesel really starves a lot of people... you know, all those people who eat algae. yeah, there's probably 10 million of them (conservatively). windmills and solar won't cut it alone, but they will cut it alongside other solutions.
When America spends over $1 billion a day on foreign oil from countries like Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Venezuela, we are funding terrorism because these countries harbor terrorists. It's not racist, it's a national security issue that needs to be resolve with clean energy.
As a conservation and solar generation pioneer who has renewable projects across the state of California still operating and saving customers energy and dollars now for nearly 3 decades. These big oil power brokers are all the same, PG&E once an Enron associate provided free energy audits to their and our customers and in many cases told them it was not "cost-effective" to add solar thermal water heating to their homes. This is the same reason that the shut off value was not added to the gulf.
@kiutukri Agreed. Too many pussy coward conservative Republicrats & Demopubs refuse to admit this. The only solution: to turn the tables on the media's language: to talk about anyone - civilian or military - who would free prisoners held hostage in America as the military heroes & freedom fighters that they would be, instead of as "terrorists".

Nice racist ad throwing the Middle East under the bus to score political points on the environment. Shame on you.

@antiprocon hold on: is it your argument that oil doesn't fund terrorism? ...or what?
