Again, as a person who has numerous people in my personal life that have come to this country legally and seen first hand the trials they have faced to do so I understand the temptation to do so unlawfully. However, I believe that EVERYONE should be punished when they CHOOSE to break the law. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Regardless of your superior ability to articulate, I imagine it's not always as easy as "no exceptions." and in a lot of cases, they may not have much choice. Life isn't black and white, there is a plethora of grey hues in the middle. Perhaps if you ever find yourself in a situation where you have no money, a box for a house, a country in turmoil where people can be killed for just wanting to leave, you can rethink and articulate your thoughts and opinions more compassionately then.

I'm a former foster kid that spent plenty of time either being abused by my "parents" or getting shipped around the system. I've also spent plenty of time eating what I could find while homeless. Though no "compassion" from some thoughtful person as yourself, I managed to pull myself up, go to college, and make a life for myself.  I didn't have any help. I NEVER applied for welfare of any kind. Heck I'm one of the few people I know that has actually paid off their student loans. Do NOT assume!

Exiling individuals who seek to join a country is imprudent and inhumane. They come there seeking refuge and opportunities, which is fascinatingly enough exactly what the majority of the ancestors of the current American population did not so very long ago. It's a rather ignorant attitude to maintain. I can certainly see the reasons for legalization, but why not -help- them get set up legally, instead of "exiling" or murdering them. Just a thought.
