I am a metal head and I love death metal and I know this is not death metal it is Deathcore I think that putting breakdowns in songs like these add the intesity and more brutal sounding of music. Now if its Deathcore vs Death Metal I would go with Death Metal but don't get me wrong I really like Whitechapel, Suicide Silence, Carnifex, Oceano, As Blood Runs Black, and others. No, not all of those bands sound the same. Most deathcore bands these days ARE identical but TDWP doesn't sound like JFAC or BOO or whatever. There are many, many bands that are ruining the scene because they all sound the same but none of those bands sound a thing alike. Black Metal is much more sophisticated and takes more talent than this crap but the bands you mentioned don't sound the same.

@Dimdez hahaa you have no fucking idea what your talking about man! if you wanna say that job for a cowboy, devil wears prada are exactly the same when job for a cowboy maybe has one breakdown in their new album. Born of Osiris have the rapid chug breakdowns while whitechapel has the grooves and are generally slower. all of the vocals sound much different too. Born of Osiris vocalist uses mostly mids and lows while whitechapel uses a lot more lows and even gets pretty high ocasionally.

I'm gonna agree with morganchavis on this wholeheartedly. Whitechapel sounds nothing like JFAC or Bring Me the Horizon (they suck in concert by the way. the singers can't really do the right type of screams so they lose their voices on the second or third song.) or The Red Chord. And also, Cannible Corpse is Death Metal, not deathcore. They never have been anything else and they've pretty much epitomized Death Metal since it started. However, this stuff isn't crap. It's just a very limited genre

@Dimdez I don't know if you know this but Cannibal Corpse and Deicide are DEFINETLY NOT DEATHCORE. They are Death Metal. If you weren't a fool you would know this. You can't really judge metal on sophistication. I can barely name any metal band that is sophisticated and especially not any Black Metal band.

Once you start getting into the Technical Death Metal and Extreme Metal scene you can. But deathcore, metalcore, hardcore, heavy metal, death metal are not really sophisticated types of metal. Black metal, however, is sometimes more sphoisticated; look at Vesania, Marduk, Belphegor, and Dimmu Borgir. They're good examples of sophisticated black metal.
