This is a great album, covers or not, everyone does them. The amazing thing is that the beatles took a CHUCK BERRY song wich is amazing already, and sang it and continued to give it a great sound.

Yes, they took out the swing of the original, put in the 4/4 heavy backbeat , bought the instruments forward in the mix, introduced a slight overdriven sound on the guitars and it was a pivotal influence on the rock music that came later.

In terms of what? The point is moot, you CAN compare artists of different genres but not ones over 100 years apart. The entire composing process has changed, the ways of thinking about music changed with the dawn of ragtime, blues, and jazz. At that point most music that came after was modeled after those three. And those are as far away from classical as you can get.

And most music is STILL based on either ragtime, blues, and Jazz except maybe metal.

Music as it evolved in the West, between the Renaissance, through the Age of Enlightenment and into the modern world i.e. "Classical" or "Art" music, has similarities with science and philosophy; it's not so much a style or a genre, more a school of thought. Anyway Berry and the Beatles were great pop/rock songwriters, not composers, so there really isn't a comparison, let alone a 'rollover' to be made to begin with.
