ER doctors and nurses are violent and abusive. Never go to a hospital or doctor's office alone. Report any abuse to the police and never pay for medical errors.
Hospitals Should be Government Worldwide. Hospitals with all Antidotes for Times of Emergencies. Hospitals with enough Doctors and Nurses to serve Emergency needs . Hospitals that allow patients to stay and rest instead of hurrying them to leave. Hospitals with well trained Surgeons and Physicians. Hospitals with enough rooms and beds to meet population needs.
@heartlessvietboy Dumbass, did you ever think that the reason we don't do that is because WE CAN'T AFFORD IT?! Its not that we choose not to. Its that we CAN'T. So lets force us to? Whats going to happen? Hospitals will shut down. You are trying to take healthcare out of the hands of normal people. I wouldn't call it affordable by any means, but you can get it.
Hospitals are already shutting down. There is no Medical Care System. Insurance Companies are overcharging. Hospitals are overcharging. WE CAN afford it. It's called The Currency. Government is keeping the System under their Control. They don't want the people to hold power although they claim its the People's Republic. They want to feed people stimulus money which they claim is causing a federal deficit. Meanwhile they are funding Billion Dollar NASA and Manhattan projects.
my gf say'd to avoid pregnency (like if the condom breaks or slips off) if you go into a swimming pool pull the swim suit to the side and spread legs in front of the jets the chlorine will kill the sperm. also a vinegar bath or a tampon saturated in chlohexidine gluconate or iodine.
@CautionKid3 it might not seem that math is all that relevant to becoming a surgeon, but trust me,it is. I'm taking chemistry in college right now (a requirement for getting into most medical schools) and I'm seeing way too many smart students do poorly because even though they understand concepts, they can't do the actual work (which requires understanding of ratios, scientific notation, simple algebra) etc.
@CautionKid3 i would start stuying some medical things, take CPR classes, and watch some amazingly helfull videos that real doctors and other people put on here, before i took my firt CPR class a actually looked at some of the videos on here to make the class a little more easier, good luck:)
i love trama and untold stories of the er it has been my passion to be a nurse of some sort and there show inspired me i watch them all the time and i would still but i lost the channel on my tv
the rapid physical trauma ER assessment- (open) airway, pulse/BP, temp, pupils, cognition (Glascow Coma score if incoherent), stat blood urine draw, head-to-toe musculoskeletal inc log roll for spine arrangements intact bones (fractures, dislocations, etc.) skin condition (lacerations, punctures, burns, open bleeds, etc.) other complaints (pain, tenderness, cold, etc.) call x-ray/lab for standby, possible CT or MRI call OR to make sure table is ready.
It's not about the money and getting tons of pussy, Sullieman, it's about helping other people and saving the life of someone's parent, brother or son. Maybe that's why you couldn't take it. You were not really made for it.
Such an important job and so important-we also as patients can do a better job to help the providers..maybe if we did better could make their job less stressful-cooperation...see youtube:superjknott--segments on Alfie..simple healthcare tips to help our wonderful providers
Just remember for all those thinking being an ER doc is fun, the average "lifespan" of an ER doc before burn-out is about 9 years! I know from experience! It ruined my home/personal life & you're under constant stress. And I was an ER doc for only 4.5 years! I went back to school & got a masters in business administration. Now I have my own corporation, travel, live well w/o stress & have a different goegeous woman whenever I want! The ER isn't what you may think it is. Now I give the orders!
This is a great reality show, because it shows how the dedicated professionals of the ER trauma teams do awesome work in saving lives everyday. It sure ain't always pretty, but they are true heroes to me-great bunch of people for sure.
There was one kid who, sadley, decded to drive drunk and run from the police he died and was a donor and they took out his beating heart and my mom quietly said: we just watched him die...I thought wow....and then cried but his organs went to several other people
@oktaylover Oh yeah, I've never been critically ill. Well, unless you count a major car-accident that fucked-up my body and put me in the hospital for a few months. And you know how helpful the nurses were? Not very. They screwed up my meds, refused to tell my family anything, and wouldn't let my boyfriend come in to see me. One of them told me I was in an accident because I'm gay. So funny that you accuse me of failing to mention the nurses. I guess you feel your opinion actually fucking matters.
OMG..this was the show i used to watch when i was in high school and inspired me to go into medicine in the first place.. I'm a resident in orthopedics & trauma now, but i can never forget the inspiration this & similar shows on TLC/Discovery provided.. please bring back such shows...
Used to watch this show along with "paramedics" (what ever happened to that show???) every chance I got as a kid. I mean I was 8 or 9 and already watching this stuff. I think that's how I discovered my passion for emergency medicine. I'm hoping to begin my EMT training this fall and then who knows what that will lead to.
Good for you man. Good luck with the training. Paramedics was a great show. I believe privacy and patient confindentiality issues were what brought that show to an end. I was sad too. Probably becuase all there is on it is: Gay cooking shows. "Baby, baby, baby OMFG another baby" " I've had a litter of children and 6 on the way". Or my favorite watching live births.
