It's so nice to read a comment here at YouTube and NOT shake my head and wonder why the (ignorant) author even bothered to expose his total lack of knoweldge.
You clearly know of what you speak. It's rare in our waters. I appreciate your knoweldge and experience.
Yes, overtraining is the "deal-breaker" for most drug-free trainers. And volume is a killer. Too bad. It's necessary for most bodybuilders, but needs to be, as you say, managed properly.
I was an editor at MuscleMag Int. and have been a competitive bodybuilder, and now powerlifter, for 27 years.
Oh, I agree. I am a drug-free powerlifter and know I'll never press 650 raw, for instance. Such a poundage is quite simply otherworldly. I mean, this guy, Andy, presses 585 with alarming ease. Just crazy.
And no offence intended, but he is CLEARLY gassed to high hell. It's a personal choice and I believe everyone is entitled to his own decisions. Certainly for androgen-type drugs to be illegal is pure nonsense.
You know, this is one of the most impressive presses I have ever seen, regardless of drug use. He appears to have three or four reps in him. This dude is freakin' strong. Look how clean and tight the rep is!
This lift is inhuman. To press 585 off one's chest that fast is nutty. STRONG and POWERFUL. Hat's off. Truly remarkable.
What I would really like to see is someone press 500 raw and drug-free (at least one full year). Now THAT would be awe-inspiring. Don't think anyone has ever done this.
500 drug-free? I'm thinking my trainer, Chris Ziesat will be doing that within the next 18 months or so. He's strong as hell. 400 X 2 on incline and 445 X 2 on flat bench. Look him up. His username is ludichris8531. I am really looking to see him do amazing things in the drug-free world. But we have different views on that.
Yes, Chris is drug-free and RAW. He is around 25 years old currently and the only thing he uses is wrist wraps. He doesn't even arch like most people when they bench. It's pretty impressive actually. His stance on steroids is very different from mine though. He believes that anything you want to do can be done without them. My belief is that you have to sue them to be the best.
Strong guy. But his thought that anything done with them can be done without is folly ... and blatant ignorance. There are certain facts of physiology that cannot be denied.
I absolutely agree with you on that one. I believe that genes are another huge factor to play into it. I can't speak for the guy though. He's got a huge opinion and he's well studied into it. You'd have to talk to him yourself to get his side, but my side is simple. I am young right now, so I will stay natural. But after I get married and have kids (mid - late 20's) I will begin using and I will try my God damnedest to become a champion.
Yeah, he's Mr. MN 2005 BODYBUILDING champion too...so he's world class in the bench (I think his max is 800+) and national class in bodybuilding. Impressive...Google his name and you'll find tons of pics of him...
I was there for this in Elk River Mn. Andy is the nicest guy you will ever meet and just a fucking beast in the gym. This guy lives for iron. didnt even know this was on youtube i just stumbled upon it

My observation as well that the bulk, size, strength appears to be not within the parameters of natural lifting.
On the contrary, to minimize misunderstanding, if the development is natural-congratulations. If not, so many problems
