Obscured by clouds has many boring songs! The worst of the FLOYD albums.
The accoustic songs are better and more catchy than the more psychedelic instrumental ones. They sound a bit like the ones on "Meddle". Gilmour's guitar sound is not as flashy as we are used to hear. Hard to believe that "Dark Side Of The Moon" was made in the same year! It's like the GENESIS' progress from their first album to "Trespass"!

Obscured is easily the least played Pink Floyd album in my collection. Along with Dark Side of the Moon. They're just so good that they need to be played when the time is right. A special night perhaps. You can't just pop this album any day of the week. But when you do, and the moment calls for it, it's absolutely amazing.
Meddle is probably my favorite album. Ummagumma is another great one. Pretty much everything post-syd and pre-Dark Side are under-rated/ignored, despite their greatness. I still like their other albums, but I keep finding songs I've never heard before from this era of Pink Floyd, and it's a very different style. The true Pink Floyd Sound.

Sean2112bd is absolutely right. In my opinion the most technically learned musician can't hold a candle to a musician who really puts his heart and soul into the music he creates. And the musician that masters both the technical and "spiritual" is truly legendary. There are not many of these.

No, I don't know what album...but the musician I was with loved all the OLD pink floyd...that is all he listened to...I found this song about 9 years ago on one of those music exchange places..but, I lost all of my files when my computer when under!! I remember hearing this album more than 20 years ago and it seemed dated and an offcut, listening now its aged well and has some great simple tunes in it, like fine wine

Sean2112bd is absolutely right. In my opinion the most technically learned musician can't hold a candle to a musician who really puts his heart and soul into the music he creates. And the musician that masters both the technical and "spiritual" is truly legendary. There are not many of these.

Sus puntos de vista son bastante aceptables..pero bueno a fin y al cabo es el gusto personal de cada quien no cree?? En cuanto a la estrucctura profunda e intelectual PF me parece bastante profunda (mis respetos a KC me gustan tambien) desde DArk Side of the Moon hasta the wall aunque si le doy un poco la razon en cuanto a lo "lineal" (roger waters ha dedicado mucho a la tematica de la guerra y sus criticas) pero bueno es gusto personal. Pink Floyd innovo a gigantes escalas si no es asi entonces la critica mundial estara equivocada segun SU punto de vista. The Wall ha sido una (o tal vez la mas) de las innovaciones que JAMAS antes vio el rock, y que dice sobre la gran discografia CONCEPTUAL ademas de pink floyd?? No discrepo que las banda que Ud. dice sean geniales pero es que me parece demasiado subjetivo

Some people dont even know who Pink Floyd is, they only know "Another Brick In The Wall" or some others. Which is sad, Just look how many views this song has, im not saying this is the only music there is. I agree that people need to explore but their defintetly not robots and listen to only 1 band and 1 type of music.

A nice song featuring a rare solo lead vocal from Richard. It was nice to read the praising words of David, Roger, and Nick after his passing. You can tell how highly all three thought of him. Rest in peace, Richard.
