OK. Another one?? I grew up in Atlanta and we had very few christian video shows. And now im still finding Petra concept videos i never knew existed!! Its about time some enterprising dvd producer scoops up ALL of them and puts out an "ultimate" collection.
takes me back !!! Back to the Street was my introduction to Petra. I first listened to them at a church youth camp in Yeppoon, Queensland and they have been a huge blessing to me since then. My absolute highlight was to have the pleasure to experience them preform live on their On Fire! tour in Brisbane. I praise God for calling them to re-form and continue their wonderful, far reaching ministry.
John Schlitt was thrown out of the band Head East, he was such a druggie. God got ahold of him, cleaned him up and saved his marriage. Then God's plan was to have Bob Hartman get ahold of him next, and he became the lead singer of Petra for quite a long time. I've always liked seeing Schlitt's intensity, he's often on the balls of his feet like he's trying to physically communicate the message in addition to singing.
This song is as important now as it was when it came out!
