What was the second patch? Is it a preset for the DX7II or one of your own? My second-hand Mark 1 DX7 certainly didn't have that. Well, it doesn't really have any of the stock presets - any suggestions, where to find those?

It's not a preset. I think that i have download it from somewhere and tweak a little bit, but it was long time ago i don't remember which site it was...really. Sorry.

@saheltaja i think a good source for DX7 sounds is the native instruments sound banks. there's a huge band directly from the DX7 in sysex format. i bet they would load and at the worst be very close to original if not exact. i have the dx7 collection and just like this video, using the FM7, just add reverb and they sound great. ok maybe a tad chorus too. check it out dx7 collection for FM7 hundreds of patches.

I don't believe any of the people who want to tell you that the software synths of today which emulate hardware do sounds nearly the same or are very close to the original. I have Fm7/FM8 and its sound is light-years away from the DX7 as I can hear. That's ok, because it doesn't have to sound the same, but I can not understand why people don't accept the truth and are lying to themselves!

@intermediate007 Are you telling me that soft synths are way better than the real thing? That fine for you, but for me the feel of the keys is a must and I want to be able to play the sounds live.

@intermediate007 The only difference is that the original DX7 was noisier, if you compare Fm7 to a Tx802 or DX7mk2 then there is little difference. Yamaha obviously thought that a cleaner version of the dx7 was better, hence the upgrades and the fact that a DX1 was so expensive. Its personal preference and quite honestly there is little in it. People need to get used to the fact that software can be far more convenient. Can you make better music on a real DX7?

@Ensoniq2008 A ja tak w kółko ją kupuję i sprzedaję, jak trzeba dołożyć do czegoś lepszego...to w zasadzie pewna inwestycja, bo zawsze jest na nią jakiś amator, a teraz już od miesiąca próbuje sprzedać Kurzweila PC3 na Alle(drogo) i nic, a niby taka sława...
