Everyone on here has it wrong, Jeremy was not bullied at all and he had plenty of friends who knew nothing about his horrible HOME life and said in school he was a perfectly happy kid. This video is about bullying, but jeremy wasnt the bullied one, pearl jams lead singer remembers a kid in high school he used to bully who also killed himself and when jeremys story came out in the news pearl jam mixed jeremys story in with the kid he knew in high school. When Jeremy killed himself or the day he killed himself, he came into class late and his teacher sent him to get a pass, when he returned he threw the pass at her and said "miss, I got what I really went for" and pulled out the gun and shot himself. At the time of this vid, Eddie Vedder was 24-25 believe it or not. Poor Jeremy, I mean it's pathetic that a lot of kids are pricks you know. This vid made me realize that High School will be shit whether you are in a rich or poor part of the world and that you gotta stay strong. In Jeremy's case, he couldn't stay mentally strong and took his life sadly. I remember my stepdad beating the shit out of me whenever i failed in hockey, can't believe i didn't take my life like Jeremy. Im 19 now.

there's actually 3 different versions of this vid. 1st one is the "Uncensored" version which the beginning is cut but near the end it shows the kid with the gun. this is the 2nd version which is "censored" but keeps the original beginning. and the 3rd is the alternative video which just shows the band.

This isn't acutally the full video. The full video had a piece where Jeremy actually hold a gun to his head, shooting himself. That particular scene got deleted since it was to premiere on the mtv vma, and mtv thought that that scene was too violent. This led to the fact that the video was gravely misunderstood, since many thought that Pearl Jam took a positive stand on youth violence. And that in it's turn, led to the fact that there wasn't very many Pearl Jam videos after this one...
