  • top 3 worst injuries in survivor

    1. Mike (Australian Outback) falling into fire

    2. Bruce (Exile Island) having bladder and liver completely bocked

    3. Russell (Samoa) Passing out from lack of energy

  • If this hadn't happened, he had a good chance of making it far in the game. They should bring him back for another season.

  • So sad

  • This is the first accident in survivor history

  • @andyeisenacher i loved this guy. he would have gone all the way if this hadn't happened. went out there and killed a fuckin pig to feed his tribe.......great spirit with some not so good luck.

  • I would have voted Roger for the winner. He is a soft guy:).

  • Why couldn't it have been Elisabeth Hasselback who fell in the fire! I mean come on!!

  • @DecapitatedDoctor I would love to watch her burn to death.

  • why hasn't he ever come back??

  • @justsailingalong

He might if they do seconed change season for those who didit make.Merge you dont get invated back if go before merge

  • I was complaining about some awful sun burn... looks like i shouldnt be after watching this

  • he came to my skool and signed my face!!

  • @Maester268 with his burnt-off hands?

  • man this is the most fucking intense scene in survivor history, especially how he's almost begging for pain killer drugs

  • man this is the most fucking intense scene in survivor history

  • and i was sort of rooting for mike

  • boy took the medics long enough

  • Dear Lord, that's one 'hell' of a baptism....

  • dammm, that looked painful as hell.

  • His fingers. Oh my gosh! Gezus!

  • he's coming to my school tomorrow.

  • @hjpikaart why??

  • @nosarasurf10 For a cyper bullying assembly. I didn't go I had an orthodonist appointment, but my friends said he rambled on and on about survivor and only talk 2 minutes about cyber bullying

  • ahh

  • he probally would have won that season

  • haha he's so druggered out from the anesthetic.

  • i remember watching this. i was about 4 or 5. a little crazy.

  • They should call Mike and Russell Swan for Redemption Island.. Or maybe after Redemption Island.

  • They should bring him back for another season. They don't need to make it special or anything, just in another regular season. I hate it when people leave for medical reasons....

  • Who would have thought Elizabeth Hasselback's stint on Survivor: Outback would earn her a job on The View?

  • @bobbob2795

    are you serious?

piss off! it was not scripted. he fell in the fire, no idiot does that for ratings.

it was a sick accident, and was lucky it was only his hands

  • @bobbob2795 - i bet you're one of those people who goes to random videos and screams "FAAAAAAAAAAKE!" all the time.

  • @bobbob2795 most definatly one of thiose idiots that types 'fake' on all the videos,a scripted show lol what a retard you are and you dont seem to mind who knows it.

  • if she was falling on hes hands at 2:49 i would die by laugh ROFL it was close as hell :P

  • Wish that they brought him back for all stars or 'heroes and villains'

  • ahh fuck that looks painful.

  • wtf? So many questions that i can ask about all this. I thought Mike was pretty fuckin stupid for breathing in the smoke.

I also read in the Uncle John bathroom reader book that a pest control company came to his house and sprayed pepper spray in his eyes because he was disobeying rules or something like that.

  • This was horrible to watch, but to say that he would have won is pretty presumptious. Just because a very bitter Nick said it during the last episode doesn't make it so. Mike was a threat to other tribe members, but was also very arrogant and pushy and it was turning people. He would have gotten voted out.

  • burns are the worst pain

    he wouldve fuckin won damnit

  • That is bloody tragic. Seriously! I feel so sorry for him.

  • what would havesucked ifone of those fish swan up his wang.

  • Damn you unnecessary didgeridoo

  • Oh that's smart- run into a dirty river with God knows what with burn wounds- he's lucky he didn't get a serious infection ontop of everything else

  • @AirJuvi43 hey man, if I was in that kind of pain, I would have easily jumped into that river, the path of least resistance, just any kind of relieve from the pain of burns...

  • @AirJuvi43 dude no offense but if u were in his situation and got burnt that bad im pretty sure u wouldnt be thinking about that and be thinkin about water

  • he spoke at my church and he lives just a few minutes from me hes a really great guy!

  • lol... where were the bullsharks and salties when he was in the lake?

  • Comment removed

  • THATS A SIN! Poor guy.

  • wow, the medics seem to be in a rush, look at them walking at top speed!

  • Wow, so sad. Everyone starts crying in the end.

  • i know how bad a burn like that feels but imagine a 3rd degree burn all over your chest and arms.......im alright now but it hurt like a mo fo! fell into 5 foot deep gas pit that had a bunch of scrap metal around...not a good idea but stll someone had to clean it....never would reccomend this to dirty jobs hate to see mike rowe die

  • ouch

  • Mike should have been let on an all-stars season.

  • It's good that it wasn't on his face.... He's an amazing player, who dominated.

  • When "Survivor" contestant" Michael Skupin fell into a fire and was injured, a cameraman kept right on filming until medics arrived. Not only that, but producer Mark Burnett remarked that if the cameraman had put his camera down to help Skupin, "I would have fired [him] on the spot. He would have been on the next plane out."

  • Lovely guy that Burnett.

  • Isn't that the sheelah from The View?

  • I thought her name was Elizabeth?

  • You're talking Elisabeth Hasselbeck (nee Filarski). She's the one in the pink trunks.

  • poor gie

  • that's horrible. uggh

  • The sad thing is that Mike probably would have won this season if it weren't for the accident.

  • @shabatster

Maybe. It is always hard to tell what was going on behind the scenes. From what we got in Australia, either Mike was close to going home or was in a power alliance with Rodger and Elisabeth

  • @shabatster Yeah, big time

  • @shabatster Yeah, that's pretty sad. But I think even more sad is that they have never brought Mike back to any All-Star edition. Probably think she was out way too soon although he's a character. Then they have someone like James to have three chances to play the game...

  • @Eikkanen HE* not she :D

  • @shabatster Actually, I doubt it, he was kind of nuts. He would've made jury though.

  • @S13AR10AFan No what I think what would of happened is that Kucha would have a 6-4 lead in the merge, and then Michael culd have easily won the remaining four challenges if Ogekor was wiped out.

  • @shabatster The next challenge probably involved swimming. Rodger would've cost Kucha Immunity, and they would've lost a member. Ogakor and Kucha are even come the merge, and since Ogakor knew that Jeff had votes against him thanks to Kimmi, he would've gone home. Then we would've had a similar situation to what really happened.

  • @shabatster Oh come on that's fucking stupid, Kucha would have f*ck Ogakor for sure but you can't say Mike would have win, his social skills were very poor.

  • this is soooo sad!! :(

but, on survivor samoa, isn't this more scary than when russell couldn't breathe? jeff didn't even REFER to this when he said "it was one of the scariest moments on this show."

    ??

  • Thats because Michael was just burned. Even though it was probably one of the most brutal accidents, they knew Michael was still gonna live. Russell on the other hand seemed to be on the verge of dying. It was scary

  • yep, but he wasnt present when this happend.

  • It is such a travesty he has not been chosen to come back. I think he would have won this one had he not gotten burned.

  • what does Elisabeth says at 1:11?? please? thanks

  • yes i realise this is in Australia, but are the medics on survivor always Australian?

  • Yes

  • yeah... they seem to be Aussi PHDs. why is that? a little strange. its an american show. does this show play as well "down under" as it does here in the states?

  • @cottonrun101 g'day mate, im not sure why they pick our Aussie Paramedics for the show but my theory is that Australian doctors, Paramedics have alot expirence working in rural/"middle of no where" types of places with harsh environments.

and as far as i know, the show is loved down here, i love it and I'm currently enjoying the samoa season (couldnt stop laughing at that 5 days straight of rain)

so yes i believe it rates good here

  • @cottonrun101 Yeah, Survivor is quite big down here. Also, the doctors in Australia are some of the best in the world, that is why Survivor uses US doctors.

  • yer there where he was on the news over here

  • and the medic wistle is really gud

ive had it but for burns idont know

  • I think it's got to do with Burnett hiring 'Immediate Assistants' - An Australian company that provides medical teams for special events etc., and they follow protocols registered in Australia and other international guidelines.

  • @Grogan1988 Yeah.

  • what episode is this so i can look?

  • This video tears me up when hes saying goodbye to everyone. They were all strangers and they grew to love eachother.

  • His medical evacuation was more scarier than the one we just recently had on Survivor Samoa.

  • that episode (Samoa) was basically like watching an hour of a guy that just needed a glass of water, whereas this one there was more than what is shown above

  • @hornean Yeah Russell's and I thought he died.

  • @hornean The one with mike or the one with russel?

  • @TheLemonLime123 Russell

  • @hornean

The Samoa evacuation was scarier because in Samoa Russell could have died and it looked like he did when his eyes went unfocused. Mike was never in danger of dying here.

  • @hornean Yeah Russell Swan's evacuation was pretty scary, but this was just horrifying!

  • That would be horrible, this was brutal to see when it originally aired

  • what is that stick they put in his mouth?

  • I believe it's morphine.

  • right ok.. that would be logical but i heard someone say "anesiethic". it didnt knock him out though.

  • Are you serious? Your asking how this happened? He told his tribe at least 5 times and told the medics. WTF man he passed out into it.

The skin floating on the surface was a nice touch

  • as he was making the fire he inhaled a plume of smoke. this caused him to passout for a second or two. while unconsience he fell onto the fire he had just made.

  • Mike came to my high school a few years back. He is a pretty cool guy.

  • ahahaha the camera camp is so close. the survivors can just chill there if they wanted to

  • I remember this..pretty scary

  • Hmm..

2 woman tried to help him..and the men just looked as frightened little mice..

  • CBS revealed that him, rodger and elisabeth made a final 3 alliance right before this happened. it would have been great! i wanted a kucha to win this! the show still should have ran the challenge, kucha would be a member up, and 'sit out' mike, so 5-5. if ogakor won, mike is already gone, its even for the merge. if kucha wins, ogakor goes to tribal council and votes out a member, merging 5-4. kucha had such an advantage up to now

  • thats called OUCH!

  • most likely methoxyflourane (penthrane inhaler) not morphine

  • No it is a morphine treatment. Quick acting.

  • what did they keep putting in his mouth, was it to check his breathing?

  • Poor dude. :(

  • Tribal Council was cancelled for this episode cuz of this incident.

  • After this I really wanted a Kucha to win it sucks they didn't

  • Man that looks terrible...

  • 1:38 ''His hands are burned.'' NO SHIT SHERLOCK

  • that looked super painful

  • HES MY CUZINZ STEP DAD

  • I seriously think that if this accident had not happened, Mike would have probably won this season and not Tina. Tina said it herself in one interview that she would not have won if Mike was not taken out of the game. I feel sorry for Mike while watching this. He seems like a great guy and I heard that he is a Christian.

  • Mike's painful scream frightened the bird away

  • Mike spoke at my church today.

    Great guy.

    It's painful just WATCHING this.

By God's grace, he is completely healed today.

  • lucky his hands didn't get infected in that water

  • thats what i was thinking the hole time but the best thing for burns is cold water

  • I remember seeing this when it first aired, and I knew this changed the season. Kucha was the bomb, and had just regained form after the reward challenge, and "probably" woulda won the next immunity challenge, but instead, went into the merge even....and well, a kucha shoulda won this game.

  • I agree. Definitely changed this one. I thought it was 50-50 on the next challenge.

They blew it at the first vote though.

  • In the history of Survivor, no female castaway has been MEDEVACed from the game.

  • Because we're not prone to bad decisions!

  • your a sexist pig!

  • he was a real contender poor fella. Is that your one from "the View"???

  • That girl, talking at 1:30 is annoying. Overly positive people piss me off.

  • lol, that girl is on the view now, she is matt hasselback's sister in law, qb of the Seattle Seahawks.

  • She is married to him.

  • She's married to his brother Tim

  • Jeff pushed him. I saw it.

  • Ouch! Poor guy =(

  • that must have hurt really bad :)

  • poor guy. i'm glad he got better. that must have really hurt. it's a good thing they didn't get infected out there.

  • jeff was my favorite in the series

  • ouuuuchhhh D=

    jeez, poor guy

  • Isn't that totally scary, though?

Mike definitely would have won, sans burns.

  • And here's the wild part of this...they took him to Sydney and the burn center wrapped his hands for a week in special webbing to keep the skin on. They unwrapped his hands a week later to look at the level of damage and see about skin grafting, and his hands were completely healed. No scars or anything. Strange but true.

  • poor guy... he was really a "survivor"

  • Thats pretty much why we call Australia "the lucky country"...for him to fall in a fire and survive is crazy....

happy australia day otherwise lol aussie aussie aussie oi oi oi!

  • That was so sad, now that was "REAL"ity TV, no scripts or anything could make u feel the way Michael felt!

  • omgg i remember watching thiss, poor guyyy , never knew smoke culd make u pass out

  • I knew smoke could make you pass out if you enhaled enough. But before seeing outback survivor I'd never heard of it happening from a camp fire. My best guess is that because they'd been out there so long he was already weakened from lack of food and water and too much exposer his body just wasn't strong enough to hang on as long.

  • very disturbing!
