I quite agree with you. My sister and I where fans from the start. We are still today. My sister says that she dislikes the CG I Thomas and Friends. I don't mind much. They did use computer only in one part of the movie, Thomas and the Magic Railroad. I have been saying over and over that we now live in the CG I stage. Almost every cartoon that a little child and adult will seen is CG I. Computers have mainly taken over all animation. I love the models.
@Swiftstar01 They are very unique and each one is hand made. I agree with them being preserved in a museum and put on display. So that all children will learn more about their favorite TV show. I also understand about the character problem. Yes there are many but i won't complain. I learned about the new characters when i saw a kid playing in his room with all of these toy Thomas models. The Engine Roll Call was kept sadly enough for seasons 13 onward, but they managed to improve it for Hero of the Rails. As for the voice actors, they did do that for season 13 onwards. hit turned Thomas the Tank Engine from a classic tv show into a baby show by putting things baby learn like colors, shapes,etc you get the point! Thomas was not made for that, only made for learning lessons in life, not baby crap!

I agree they messed it up. Idk anything about cgi but I agree with everything else you all said. Two things one I dont get why the hell did they add a bunch of little enginges in moutains and two their is a lot less interaction between engines. Thinks HIT has ruined thomas.
@majormana1 - The "Little Engines in the Mountains" are the Skarloey Railway Engines, which are original Awdry creations... they apparently work near the mountains because on HiT's version of Sodor, the Culdee Fell Railway (Cog Railway) doesn't exist! :P
apparently sHIT just ruined the epicness of the series; re-introducing old characters for Season 12 and the next season, mucking up the whole series....

It said on the ttte wikia site that the thomas characters will get some septet voices in hero of the rails and season 13 to when ever the show ends. it said it in my discover thomas booklet so theres a big something to look froward to.

boy my childhood is going down the shitter. Why wouldn't you preserve the modle trains?! They deserve to be preserved in our train lovers' history as one of the most classic modle trains in existance.
And the fact that between Series 4, and Series 12, there's been a gauge change. They must've had to build new models on a bigger scale, and this may be the cause for the long absence.
Consequently, HiT is making more money, at the expense of making the show using cheaper animations, sacrificing Railway Series themes and stories, including pointless characters, etc. That's why the show's losing popularity.
The problem with the way HiT Entertainment has decided to run the show is this, which everyone seems to be forgetting: HiT doesn't care about any of this. All they care about is introducing a new character, making a whole shitload of money from the merchandising, and letting the little kids on their way. The first-generation Thomas fans (us) are eing ignored by HiT Entertainment, and the new generation is being cheaply entertained so their parents will give money to the company.
Well, I was listening to this in the background, and found the changes interesting, as I haven't been one to watch the series since my youth. However, I was disappointed to hear the arguments presented in such a poor manner. In reference to the audio, you could've made sure everyone was the same volume, no? I'll leave you with the parting words of what I heard loudest in the video, instead of what it was meant to be, as displayed on screen: "TA-FAGAFA, BASTA!"
You got a point for evrey thing you talked about, mostly the part about putting more Railroad Series stories in the show. Also, they are carying the most stupid loads. I also disagree with your proposal about giving the characters individual voices. The concept of the storyteller is one of the show's few remaining philosophies that keep it connected to its literary origins. You said yourself - about the Awdry storylines - that "if it isn't broken, don't fix it" - surely the same applies to the mode of narration, since it has remained the same for well over twenty years. If Hit thought it needed modernising, they would have done something much sooner.
If anything needs to be changed, it's the set work. By Series 12, they looked as if they'd been thrown together effortless in a matter of seconds - a shocking contrast to some of the beautiful work from Series 1 and 2.
Out of interest, what was your observation about Aesop? I couldn't quite understand it.
Keeping in mind with the characters' voices, they have to match the certain regions with the exact voices like Bob the Builder, which was surprising too...
In the UK, Henry's voice could be done by Keith Wickham from Frankenstein's Cat. In the US, he could be voiced by Maurice LaMarche from Inspector Gadget's Last Case.

As for the Transition into CGI. At first I thought the CGI features of Amazing in Season 12.
But during the releases of Seasons 13 - 15 I liked the CGI Thomas less and less.
the full CGI Characters just seems annoying. (No offence to you loyal fans).
and seeing the same places in the CGI series is lame.
I wish they had some of the old sets in Full CGI. like Elsbridge Station, and others.

I agree they messed it up. Idk anything about cgi but I agree with everything else you all said. Two things one I dont get why the hell did they add a bunch of little enginges in moutains and two their is a lot less interaction between engines. Thinks HIT has ruined thomas.

@majormana1 - The "Little Engines in the Mountains" are the Skarloey Railway Engines, which are original Awdry creations... they apparently work near the mountains because on HiT's version of Sodor, the Culdee Fell Railway (Cog Railway) doesn't exist! :P

I remember watching Thomas and Friends as a kid... Nowadays, Thomas' current season is filled with s*** >:(
I don't mind the CGI, but they pretty much showed a limited amount of characters instead of the big load from the previous seasons... HiT basically disappointed us with this amount of characters in Season 13... :(

I agree with pretty much all of this apart from cgi faces i think one of the things that defined thomas was that nothing moved apart from the trains themselves made i liked that about it also rule britania would be excellent for theme but i prefer the original 1 and those models shud not be given to some dick at hit entertainment for screwing the show up they should be sent to a museum for evryone to see and remeber

4.And a remix of the original Thomas theme song

but when a new engine is intreduded to the show (In one episode) they reapiar in the next season. just like whiff. he appiered in emilys Garbage (but in UK Emilys Rubish) and only in that episode. he reapiered in Tobys Special Suprise in season 12. and I also think that the song rule britina might be a good song entry for the show instead of the engine roll call too.

Even though I like new characters, but I still agree with you that Hit Entertainment should stop introducing new characters and bring back old ones like Duck, Hank, Stepney, Bulstrode, and so on. Let's just hope that Hiro, Victor, Kevin, and Charlie will be the last new characters

It said on the ttte wikia site that the thomas characters will get some septet voices in hero of the rails and season 13 to when ever the show ends. it said it in my discover thomas booklet so theres a big something to look froward to.

Consequently, HiT is making more money, at the expense of making the show using cheaper animations, sacrificing Railway Series themes and stories, including pointless characters, etc. That's why the show's losing popularity.

The problem with the way HiT Entertainment has decided to run the show is this, which everyone seems to be forgetting: HiT doesn't care about any of this. All they care about is introducing a new character, making a whole shitload of money from the merchandising, and letting the little kids on their way. The first-generation Thomas fans (us) are eing ignored by HiT Entertainment, and the new generation is being cheaply entertained so their parents will give money to the company.

Well, I was listening to this in the background, and found the changes interesting, as I haven't been one to watch the series since my youth. However, I was disappointed to hear the arguments presented in such a poor manner. In reference to the audio, you could've made sure everyone was the same volume, no? I'll leave you with the parting words of what I heard loudest in the video, instead of what it was meant to be, as displayed on screen: "TA-FAGAFA, BASTA!"

You got a point for evrey thing you talked about, mostly the part about putting more Railroad Series stories in the show. Also, they are carying the most stupid loads. Fish in open wagons and elphants on flat cars,to name a few. Hit, for the love of the Awdry family, make the loads reasonble. Not just 3-year-olds watch this show!

I also disagree with your proposal about giving the characters individual voices. The concept of the storyteller is one of the show's few remaining philosophies that keep it connected to its literary origins. You said yourself - about the Awdry storylines - that "if it isn't broken, don't fix it" - surely the same applies to the mode of narration, since it has remained the same for well over twenty years. If Hit thought it needed modernising, they would have done something much sooner.

If anything needs to be changed, it's the set work. By Series 12, they looked as if they'd been thrown together effortless in a matter of seconds - a shocking contrast to some of the beautiful work from Series 1 and 2.

In the UK, Henry's voice could be done by Keith Wickham from Frankenstein's Cat. In the US, he could be voiced by Maurice LaMarche from Inspector Gadget's Last Case.
