  • I've had the pleasure of meeting Ron and watching him climb. Words cannot describe the gentleness and warmth of this man, not to mention his huge talent as he scales walls of granite with the grace of a ballet performer and disappears into the sky.

He taught Stallone for the film "Cliffhanger" and worked with Tom Cruise for months on "Mission Impossible 2." His son, Lonnie, is a famous snowboarder. Now, Ron works with underprivileged and foster care children in Yosemite. He's outstanding.

  • Bad ass story

  • He is so right on spot in what he speaks of! <3

  • I saw Ron Kauk in person at Yosemite where he was presenting his awesome movie "Return To Balance: A Climber's Journey" He is truly gifted..........He will inspire more people to get into the natural world and away from the couch and TV.......

  • well said

  • Ron Kauk is a great mind. He revolutionized the way I climb and think about climbing. And on that note...why would you ask about grades? You must have not listened to a single word he said. And for everyone else, his segment in Dosage 3 is Phenominal. That's the piece that changed my thinking about what climbing is.

  • @ewokscanclimb2 funny you say that.. i was just wacthing his segment on dosage vol 3 and i agree what u said about grades they dont define you as a climber!!, grades where invited because people didnt know how hard they were climbing.. climb for the love of it!! MUCH LOVE.

  • i love ron kauk!!!

  • What gives you life. . .I'm really going to take that to heart and keep that in my viewfinder ahead. . . Thank you Merry Christmas every one

  • I am sitting next to a Ron Kauk relative. Weston Kauk, second cousin.

  • The route at 1:08 is called "Heaven", it's a Ron Kauk classic that goes at 5.12 and overhangs approximately 1200 feet above the valley floor.

The route itself starts on a ledge and is only roughly 50' long.

  • like what grade can this guy climb?

  • You completely missed the point of this video if you are asking that question...

  • He was the climbing double for Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible II.

  • Can anybody tell me the name of the overhanging crack route at 1:08?

  • can anybode tell me the name of the overhanging crack route at 1:08?

  • good video . i hate my pure english because i don't understand too much, but can anybody tell my the name of the overhanging crack route at 1:08?

  • i'm surprised he's so insightful...cheers for posting this!
