1. There is no 2.7L VR6.

2. In VW Passat 2.8 is a real wide angled V6, so there are VW with real V6 engines.

3. The only 2.7L V6 are real V6 in Audi, Petrol and Diesel.

4. VR engines where used in Golf platform due to limited space in engine bay. You are correct that VW called them V6 from Golf mk4 on due to marketing reasons, but still it was a VR6 engine.

The latest evolution of VR6, the R36 with 3.6L displacement was used in various VW/Skoda/Porsche...

@blackt0wer The Turbocharger compresses the air. The Intercooler kind of "sucks in" air, (Ram Air passing the intercoolertubes with the hot air) and sits in the front of the car. Therefore the Intercooler eats the stuff flying by. Not the Turbocharger. Look what they collect sometimes: Normally Insects, but sometime even birds. The bigger the Intercooler, the higher the chance, he might "suck in" some smaller cars with it.. Got It???

@bubbyj First of all, this ain't a V6. Golfs never had a real V6 under the hood. It's an R32 engine which has a different cylinder angle than a V6. Secondly, I might have axaggerated with the weight, it's comparable to Evo X. Thirdly, I don't think my comment was aimed at attackin anyone, unlike yours, which is kinda offensive towards me... Dude, chill out :) All I'm saying is that this car can really be underestimated by the owners of supposedly faster cars and that's its strength.

@elvisT Can't agree on that. Volkswagen did not put ANY REAL V6 engine into Golf and the reason is simple - all the 6-cyl VW engines are VRs, no matter if that's a 2.7, 2.8, 3.2 or 3.6. Like I said before - the cylinder angle is different than in a normal V6. It was only badged as a V6 for marketing reasons. So what you're saying is partially right :) When it comes to the power, it's the same as with all the 1200HP Supras - just install a turbo that is big enough and you'll get a few hundred HP.
