Sally's hair fixer comes in a box its vials that are leave in I have naturally BLACK hair and I would put blue black on top of it. i got white hair but very damaged. The hair fixer is amazing! NEVER go to sleep with wwet hair and hair serums are a must. a cheaper way to help super damaged hair just as well is using ethnic hair oils....helped me alot, just my experence. And yes this is extreamly hard to get to and annoying!
For conditioner I use Aussie's 3 min miracle. Again, I highly recommend you try oil based bleach. It lifts REALLY quickly, and it's a lot safer than bleach without oil. I've left it in my hair everytime from one hr to an hour 15 mins. And that's after it's all in. It usually takes my husband an hour to get it all in.. Yes, amazing huh, it's FANTASTIC stuff. Use it everyone so we can keep it on the shelves at Sallys. I used to use Wellite by Wella, but it's since been discontinued. :(
You have a fantastic video! I have platinum hair and what I use is Roux Sheer Delight oil based bleach from Sallys with the same creame 30 developer that you use. I also mix in a comfort care pack from Sallys and the bleach doesn't sting at all except for the nape of my neck. Roux Sheer Delight if you'd like to try it.. is the purple box with like 5-6 applications. I like the oil based one because it moisturizes while your hair is bleaching. To tone it all I use is Clairol Shimmer Lights 3 min.
I am going from dark reddish brown and am on my 2nd lightening or bleaching. It's still got some brassy orange tones but it's getting there. Hopefully in one more bleaching it will be light enough to color, but I am getting scared. I like your info. If you have some reddish or pink tones after 3 bleaching should you just color it with the toner or keep on bleaching? You said orginally you had to bleach a few times? More than 3 or 4?

What black dye did you use before? Reason I'm asking is because I have short hair and want to grow it out. But i want to dye it black right now for the next year or two while I'm growing it out. Great video and very honest. Just wanted to add that 20 volume is best to bleach to maintain healthy hair. The 30 and 40 vol. is just faster, but blows out the cuticle. Also, every blonde should use protein treatments to keep the cuticle in tact, followed by moisture treatment. Thanks for yr vid.

@Jilliansg 30% is far better for your hair than 40.
It still damages your hair, but 30 does less damage. When I tired to get my hair in my fringe to go from dyed black to blonde, I used 30% and it only took two bleachs to strip the blackand make it a yellow blonde,all i would need to do then is put toner in :)
@dolphingirl1205 I've done it. Be careful not to get impatient cuz you can damage your hair pretty badly (which I've also done before). Also, depending on how light of a purple you want, put a tad bit of conditioner in it so you are infusing some proteins. and stuff back into your hair. Hope it turns out great! Oh! Also, be careful at what product you use for the purple. Some of them suck, Good luck!
@dolphingirl1205 Just leave it bleached for while though, after bleaching it so many times it will be extremely damaging. After you bleach it blonde, leave it blonde for a couple weeks, and constantly treat your hair with good products and such, then dye it purple. :)

when u guys are gonna do ur toner add one or two tubes of ARDELL RED GOLD CORRECTOR PLUS depending how much hair you have. The toner will work way better and you will have less brassy colour. I use the T18 by wella (toner). you can get all this stuff at sallys beauty supply

It was a little over a month ago and ALL the pigment (from the red) has faded out. It's now a very natural looking orange, like some ginger people. But some parts, like in the bottom is darker. Redkin has a toner called platinum ice thats a nice purple and also 'unite' brand has a purple shampoo called BLONDA that works amazing for keeping yellow tones out

between colors u can also use some UNRED - u get it at sallys - they have it in violet and blue - i've used both - just mix it in a color bottle and put it in ur hair and let it stay a while then rinse- OR use it as a last rinse after shampoo - u can even put it in ur favorite shampoo - again mix them both ina color bottle&keep it in the shower -also - its super easy to just mix toner in a color bottle using the marked measurements on it- i believe wella toner is 2 oz. 20vol to one bottle toner

My sister tried to bleach her hair and it turned orange...D: she is brond now (too light to be brown to dark to be blonde) I think you would look slightly better with brond, because your skin is slightly too tanned for platinum blonde (in my opinion, if you like it then keep it!) I'm not hating I just think it would look really pretty on you, and you can dye it in one, which is good! Again I'm not hating just sharing my opinion XD This video was really helpful, but I watched it a bit too late!
I have to say is your tutorial is by far one of, if not, the best I've seen on here so far.
The only comment I have is really a "this is how I do it," I've found that if you mix a 25 vol developer and apply it for thirty minutes, then mix a 1:1 ratio of bleach to 40 vol. It boosts the lightening taking less time. the first app I'm assuming opens the hair cuticle and lightens slightly then the second is a power trip! my hair processed lighter than my white/plat hair in about 35 minutes!

You have a fantastic video! I have platinum hair and what I use is Roux Sheer Delight oil based bleach from Sallys with the same creame 30 developer that you use. I also mix in a comfort care pack from Sallys and the bleach doesn't sting at all except for the nape of my neck. Roux Sheer Delight if you'd like to try it.. is the purple box with like 5-6 applications. I like the oil based one because it moisturizes while your hair is bleaching. To tone it all I use is Clairol Shimmer Lights 3 min.

I am going from dark reddish brown and am on my 2nd lightening or bleaching. It's still got some brassy orange tones but it's getting there. Hopefully in one more bleaching it will be light enough to color, but I am getting scared. I like your info. If you have some reddish or pink tones after 3 bleaching should you just color it with the toner or keep on bleaching? You said orginally you had to bleach a few times? More than 3 or 4?

What black dye did you use before? Reason I'm asking is because I have short hair and want to grow it out. But i want to dye it black right now for the next year or two while I'm growing it out. Great video and very honest. Just wanted to add that 20 volume is best to bleach to maintain healthy hair. The 30 and 40 vol. is just faster, but blows out the cuticle. Also, every blonde should use protein treatments to keep the cuticle in tact, followed by moisture treatment. Thanks for yr vid.

It still damages your hair, but 30 does less damage. When I tired to get my hair in my fringe to go from dyed black to blonde, I used 30% and it only took two bleachs to strip the blackand make it a yellow blonde,all i would need to do then is put toner in :)

@dolphingirl1205 I've done it. Be careful not to get impatient cuz you can damage your hair pretty badly (which I've also done before). Also, depending on how light of a purple you want, put a tad bit of conditioner in it so you are infusing some proteins. and stuff back into your hair. Hope it turns out great! Oh! Also, be careful at what product you use for the purple. Some of them suck, Good luck!

@dolphingirl1205 Just leave it bleached for while though, after bleaching it so many times it will be extremely damaging. After you bleach it blonde, leave it blonde for a couple weeks, and constantly treat your hair with good products and such, then dye it purple. :)

when u guys are gonna do ur toner add one or two tubes of ARDELL RED GOLD CORRECTOR PLUS depending how much hair you have. The toner will work way better and you will have less brassy colour. I use the T18 by wella (toner). you can get all this stuff at sallys beauty supply

So I'm bleaching my hair to be able to dye it another color(so it shows up better). Could I bleach it once, leave it at orange or whatever comes up, dye it blue, and the blue would still show up pretty well? If I have to bleach more than once, how much time do I leave between each bleaching session? One right after the other, or...days in between?

The problem I have a with bleaching my hair is that it gets really damaged from the bottom and turns into a kind of rubberband feel. i recently used a color remover and my hair is auburn right now. how many bleaches do you think i'll have to go through?

This is one of the most helpful videos I"ve seen. I have a question, though. I had my hair bleached then dyed red before. It was a little over a month ago and ALL the pigment (from the red) has faded out. It's now a very natural looking orange, like some ginger people. But some parts, like in the bottom is darker. It's a very light orange-brown. Do you think one bleaching will take care of it? Also I have the wella charm toner but it's the 'pale blond T10' is that the same as the ivory lady?

between colors u can also use some UNRED - u get it at sallys - they have it in violet and blue - i've used both - just mix it in a color bottle and put it in ur hair and let it stay a while then rinse- OR use it as a last rinse after shampoo - u can even put it in ur favorite shampoo - again mix them both ina color bottle&keep it in the shower -also - its super easy to just mix toner in a color bottle using the marked measurements on it- i believe wella toner is 2 oz. 20vol to one bottle toner

My sister tried to bleach her hair and it turned orange...D: she is brond now (too light to be brown to dark to be blonde) I think you would look slightly better with brond, because your skin is slightly too tanned for platinum blonde (in my opinion, if you like it then keep it!) I'm not hating I just think it would look really pretty on you, and you can dye it in one, which is good! Again I'm not hating just sharing my opinion XD This video was really helpful, but I watched it a bit too late!

I have to say is your tutorial is by far one of, if not, the best I've seen on here so far.
The only comment I have is really a "this is how I do it," I've found that if you mix a 25 vol developer and apply it for thirty minutes, then mix a 1:1 ratio of bleach to 40 vol. It boosts the lightening taking less time. the first app I'm assuming opens the hair cuticle and lightens slightly then the second is a power trip! my hair processed lighter than my white/plat hair in about 35 minutes!

My hair was a bright yellow right after I bleached it and I was a little scared but I re-watched your video and it put me at ease. My naturally medium brown hair is now a light ash blond.
