Respectfully, this is not true. There are 26 identified populations of polar bears. As of studies in 2009, 8 are declining, 3 are stable, and 1 is increasing. This compares with a 2005 study, in which only 5 were declining, 5 were stable, and 2 were increasing. Far from being "safe from any alleged decline in sea ice," the population declining the MOST is Canada's Hudson Bay population, with a 22% decline since the 1980's. These are facts, not speculation.

It melts the ice, where polar bears should be staying longer in hard ice, rather than swimming earlier around the expected season. Lots of Polar Bears up here. Funny how while the Earth has been warming a tiny bit over the past thirty or forty years, Polar Bear population has actually gone up. From about 5,000 to about 25,000 now. They also seemed to do well during the Medieval Warm Period, the Roman Warm Period, and also during the Eemian Interglacial, 125,000 years before now, when it was about 5 degrees warmer or even more, then it is now. They survived, because they can adapt more quickly then we give them credit for.

I love Polar Bears, i turn my washing machine down to 30 and i never leave lights on and turn down heating etc. If everyone just did one of these things it would help. It doesn't take long to get into new habbits and it will save you money!

Is all these people have to do is put some sad music on and say that they're stranded out there and you believe them? Polar bears can swim you know. I understand what you are saying.But that doesn't explain why they are drowning,having to swim further,due to the diminishing ice. I know that our climate has changed throughout the years due to the earths orbit etc.I don't claim to know all that much, but i Like the Bears and i Like cheaper bills ;-) we do tend to believe whatever were told. I guess i just need some hard proof. Until then it won't hurt to think a little about the enviroment in which we live in.
