@mscheesymac Are you for ending the War on Drugs, and believe in legalizing all drugs, so the various states of the U.S. can regulate them, giving the states a better ability to control the drug problem? The War on Drugs hasn't worked, and will never work, and only makes drugs worse, and creates a free for all, giving criminals the right to sell drugs to 7 year olds. You don't see this with alcohol or tobacco. Basically, young people have easy access to drugs when they are illegal.

Unalienable Rights, like the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness, were a major influence on the constitution, with the Bill of Rights basically protecting these unalienable rights. The issue shouldn't be about who pays more taxes. It should be about the fact that anyone is required to pay income taxes. Income taxes are totally immoral and un-American. And the fact that freedom of speech can somehow be a factor in how much taxes you pay is ridiculous.

@Skydancer365 Actually, in order to obtain those goals it would require massive government control of it's people, land, and resources. The people who support these goals ultimately support their own enslavement by the rule of man, rather than respect each other by the rule of law. We must tolerate other peoples behavior, but we must not accept it. I am a libertarian and I do not support an organization who's sole purpose is to control how I think and act through judicial activism.

That's a rather bizarre view of the ACLU. I was a Libertarian for about 25 years and still strongly believe in their views on civil liberties (even though I no longer believe in their views on "welfare" which is why I'm no longer a Libertarian).
I think perhaps you don't know what the ACLU does. The ACLU is the exact opposite of what you said. They believe in PREVENTING control of how you think and act by COMBATING judicial activism.

I worked at an outdoor theater a few years back in memphis, tn , some kids came from somewhere with this lady and they drew a beautiful mural on the back wall of elvis and a few religious symbols that e wore during his lifetime and the ACLU just had a fit untill we painted over it because of a cross, a lamb, a wolf , the star of david , ect. just a little bit of everything, God scares the aclu .

The Aclu defends RAPISTS, MURDERERS and miscellaneous FELONS. I love that they go to court fighting for the right of a convicted sex offender to sit in a park but could care less about the children that puts in danger. The ACLU could stay busy every day for ever and ever representing VICTIMS who's rights were brutally violated but instead they would rather represent the pedophile. The Aclu makes me wish i was Canadian

@FFFFbody That's right. The problem with Communism is that it is never equal. The fact of the matter is that any political system that is controlled by one person is forced to follow that person's beliefs
So in the long run communism becomes "Do what I want you to." and not what the majority wants. The truth is a republic is what the people want because in the end the people elect the officials they want to represent them and that's what matters not who is in power.

@FFFFbody Yes. There is only 1 difference between a republic and a democracy. The difference is a republic has 1 leader at the head of the government that is elected, while a democracy doesn't. It's overlooked a lot of times, but it is very important.

The ACLU has already addressed that there is a huge immigration problem in America that needs to be dealt with. That kind of comprehensive immigration reform needs to come from the federal government. So if you have a problem with immigration, you should be pointing your finger at the fed. Obviously, the ACLU, which has been on the front lines of more Supreme Court cases protecting the rights of Americans than any other private org., would prioritize American citizens rights above all.
