  • I so want to see this piece performed!

  • one of the greatest compositions the world has ever seen, and prehaps the greatest composition we will ever see. ive listened to many versions of this song. from John Williams to Miles Davis to Hank Marvin. but, i think my favorite version is that of an argentinian guitarist Ernesto Bitetti ,who played almost the exact same thing as John Williams, but something about the way he plays the guitar just makes this already amazing composition just out of this world.

  • Bardzo piękny utwór.Aby można było go lepiej zrozumieć trzeba wiedzieć dlaczego został skomponowany i dlaczego właśnie miasto Aranjuez.

  • I love the use of Major 7th Chords often,,,,so gorgeous

  • This is very nice...thank you for sharing.

  • This is the best rendition of this great masterpiece...The acoustics of the venue are perfect and the atmosphere is sublime.

  • get the next video playing at exactly 8:43 to get as close to seamless as possible! (there's a 23 second silent intro similar to this track)

  • Chrysler used this song in their commercial back in the 70's when Ricardo Montalban was showing us the Chrysler Cordoba and it's fine coreeenthian leather!

  • WOW...this was a WONDERFUL performance! Simplemente maravilloso!

  • gives me great power wow

  • Let rock, lets rock, today

  • One of the best gifts the Spanish people have ever presented the world with. Master Joaquin de Rodrigo

    *******

    To sociologists and linguists:

    Spanish Rodriguez=Spanish Rodrigo= German Rodericus (Hruot+riks)

    T'same way:

Torres (like Spain's football player)= Tor (God) + es

López= From English Lope + suffix -ez (es: like)

    Gutierrez

    ********

Just take a look at Spain's premier Rodriguez Zapatero or football player Torres to see Nordic heritage in Spain, along of course with Mediterranean.

  • im not certain but i think the guy that wrote this piece was blind.

  • @Shanelololol you're right,he was blind since he was 3 years old,you can check at wikipedia

  • wonderful experience to listen to the beautiful orchestral song

  • this brings a tear to my eyes

  • Absolutely beautiful. Heard it on NPR the other day and found you here. Thanks

  • UNIQUE!!!

  • no words describe here

  • It will cease to amaze me how someone like Mr. Rodrigo, who had been blind from the age of three, could write such beautiful and fantastic pieces like this.

I still favor Sharon Isbon's version of this, but with that said, this is still an excellent rendition of the master piece.

  • Thank you!It's magnific!

  • Subliminal Sounds..

-Joaquin Rodrigo- One of The Best Composers Spain has ever given to the world.

    Thanks for uploading it.

  • increíble...

  • WONDERFUL Aranjuez !!!!!*****

  • I love it. It depicts every aspect of Espana. The mountains, vineyards, sport and the people. Ned to return soon.

  • How strong is the 'arab' component here. Mainly because of the guitar. As someone posted below, it sounds like a wanderer in the desert

  • Like this if School of Rock brought you here.

  • GRACIAS... ESTO ES MUSICA... !!!

  • hermosa música

lets hope google translate got this right... and that people will start making music this beautiful again...

  • Excellent

  • I like it very much, I feel that I'm alive when I hear it

  • evokes scenes of a lone wanderer in the desert~

  • @elomartinez

As I explained in the information part. This is a raw video. It wasn't meant to be shown like this but to be edited using footage from all the tour. However I went ahead and uploaded it just to give people a chance to hear it before the editing happens. Hopeful we will still have an edited version using this movement as the background music, so stay tuned :)

  • I heard a documentory about Rodrigo on the BBC, some time ago.

apparently he wrote this movement after his son died.

  • @HonestMan395 Not apparently. He wrote it when he died :(

  • @HonestMan395

i just read today that it was written when his wife had a miscarriage

iv never heard it before i am looking it up because it got voted the best piece of acoustic music in my magazine Acoustic - 2nd was neil young heart of gold and 3rd was bob dylan the times they are a changing

  • This beautiful song sublimates the essence of my homeland. I close my eyes and I can see Toledo's narrow streets, I smell the Cordoba's patios, and heard the springs of Granada's Alhambra...

(great interpretation. see also Paco de Lucia concert)

  • This is the most beautiful piece every written

  • he wrote this when he lived i wien and was homesick.

  • There's so much emotions in this music. Makes one think God give us so much talent to express it through music, speech, and many other ways.....

  • this concerto gives me goosebumps.....beautiful...

  • This lady is an excellent oboist also, and she performs it with the better oboists I have heard. It is impassioned! If one of these musicians is flat, it loses everything! And yes the guitarist is excellent also.

  • love the echo

  • i listen to rap,r&b,house,trance etc...

but im totally in love with this epic piece ....

  • @EreniK19 there's more where this piece came from. Keep looking into Classical if you like this.

  • Comment removed

  • @EreniK19 I totally agree!

  • The lady playing the oboe in this rendition is much better than the lady performing in the video of Xuefei Yang. I think it is worth a comparison. The guitarists were both wonderful.

  • BEAUTIFUL, classical

  • I love this. I am going to record this with piano and orchestration. I hope I can do it justice.

  • from which country or orchestra is this made by?

  • @MrMGO1993 The orchestra was based in Pittsburgh, PA of USA, but we had performers from all over the place. Places like Venezuela, Chile, Switzerland, Turkey among others. Most of them were North American though.

  • @MrMGO1993 the composer was from spain....... if that helps lol

  • @MrMGO1993 ESPANA =)

  • FROM MEXICO MILLE GRAZZIE , GRAZZIE TANTE!!

  • Such a fantastic performance and interpretation!

  • Does anybody know what kind of guitar this is, the normal one or the Spanish guitar? Cause I wanna learn how to play it! :)

  • @secandar Knowing that's a spanish piece, and guided by the sound, it's a traditional spanish guitar, like the one's used in flamenco.

  • I love this song.

IF you one one with words. Fernando Lima- En Aranjuez con tu amor

  • Absolutely superb performance! Bravo!

This has long been a favorite of mine.

Growing up on classical music as well as Italian Westerns, it was impossible not to notice Rodrigo's influence on Ennio Morrocone's film scores.

Hermoso.

  • vienen a nueva york?

  • the guitar sounds soo beautiful, I love this music.

  • Spain - Chick Corea!

  • loved it.......

  • i love it!!!

  • WONDERFUL!!!!

  • jesus christ,

i cry everytime i listen to this, can't help it.

    fantastico,a real masterpiece(but not for softeggs like me i guess ;-) )

  • @MrKaranikolas

Music is all about emotion. :)

  • TAN HERMOSA QUE DUELE....

  • @kakashiJAVB ... Duele en el alma. Bellísima

  • This is some of the most beautiful music in the world. I wish I could have seen the guitarist..

  • This guitar is very well tuned. A well tuned guitar can definitely break or make this perfromance and in this case it was superb. Great job by this composer...

  • The best version of this piece i have heard so far....

  • such a great piece, buckethead does a great rendition himself called Sketches of Spain (for miles)

  • AMAIZING tune.

  • wunderbar

  • fantastic..the music the lyrics everything

  • @slovak80 there r no lyrics.

  • i love this music..spanish people must be brave of this man who wrote it...just fantastic

  • just perfect.....like a dream...

  • its fantastic....the best

  • Beautiful music.

One small criticism is the video.........the camera movements and zoom are way too fast.

  • I love this piece of music and the lady on the English horn, very nice. The sound in the church is amazing. I went to alot of the same kinds of cathedrals in Germany and Austria. I miss Europe.

  • Excellent Henglish Horn! Brava

  • Thank you efrainamaya. This piece means a lot to Turkish people and I am no exception. Glad to have found such a inspiring attempt at the concerto.

  • Fucking cool. I even appreciated this with my limited education.:)

  • Wow.....

  • When ever I hear this, I think of an old man in a sombrero sitting on a rocking chair playing his guitar to his grandchildren.

  • When ever i hear this i get the most sad feeling ever!

A man on his knees who has lost everything with no reason to hope anymore. Yet he finds the strength to ask "WHY" is he being tortured so much by God. He gets angry at God but at the same time he is begging for salvation from his nightmare!

Hate and love so intertwined that he himself cannot understand what he actually feels. He is so lost in his own self the memories of the past and the future memories that will never come!

    Sadness!

  • Thank you Ali for sharing, this is wonderfullllllllllllllll

  • I had only heard Miles Davis' version before this, but this is better.

His trumpet's just too harsh an instrument for it, perhaps a smoother sound(like that flugelhorn from Miles Ahead) would have suited better.

  • Love it. And I'm saying this being 14. When I am 30 dunno what can I think about this great song. Sorry about my english.

  • @sasunarulab

You can be 44 and still be moved. Believe me, I am proof ;-)

  • i've heard somewhere a version of this song that has female vocals, which is sung in arabic language.

    it sounded like this :

li bairut, min qolbi salaamun li bairut

    or something like that

i wonder where can I find that song again.

  • oh life life, how could art thou be so cruel on such a soul like me, thou had cast such enormous magnanimity over me..... oh let me weep, let me weep over my sad fate, let my tears fall, down vain lights shine you no more....................

  • los vellos de punta, k barbaridad

  • found this thanks to my good friend, miles davis- one of the best spanish melodies ever, just as good in jazz

  • Viva Espana!

  • Wow, the guitar sounds so powerful.. alomst unique! What a beautiful concert!

  • @secandar It is microphoned to a PA. From the back it looks like a flamenco guitar... yellow cyprus back and sides. More percussive than a classical. The right choice for this piece.

  • My dad is playing this now on a guitar - what a difference, but both beautiful nevertheless <3
