  • I hate tutorials with music in it.

  • stupid manner of presenting

  • @JDK1981 This video is for turning PC's into Thin Clients. For your scenario this won't help and will make your computer unusable.

  • Question .. i have a PC with a DVR card in it for a Security Camera DVR system, just looking to making it use less power really. Would this make a change in anything like that?? Would the DVR even still work?

  • Retarded video. Please remove and add stages to this.

  • what the fuck is he installing!!!

  • dipsticks!!!

  • bloody music!!! why is there a narrator on this video!!!

  • whats with the crappy music...haven't you got a voice

  • que porqueria de tutorial

  • I know where the mute button is, and I'm a fan of the Beatles music However the point that was being made was far an instructional video this was poorly done

    Sorry

  • Thanks Ganondork,

Some people still have not figured out where the mute button are :-) Unfortunately it's not possible to edit and reupload the video.

  • Sucks, music doesn't add anything. I couldn't get through it.

  • Que pelotudes!!

  • crappy video ditch the music

  • Gay Music, Pointless Video. What else?

  • Wow, I couldn't hit MUTE fast enough...

  • Ditch the music !

  • The Citrix Client software is free, but you will need to pay for the Citrix XenApp software. If you're running Windows 2008 Remote Desktop Service you could use that web interface instead. Would/could be a lot cheaper.

  • Don't you still have to pay Citrix to use the Citrix Client software? Or no?

  • But this is just the web interface, try fat2thinpc its very similar locks down a desktop but instead of displaying the web interface it uses the citrix plugin and launches a desktop

  • @fat2thinpc website is fat2thinpc.co.uk

  • A large goal of using a thin client is that you don't have all of the Points of Failure to deal with like we did with a "standard" PC. Converting an old PC into a thin client... not happening. You still have power supply to die, hard drive to crash, mobo to fry, etc, etc. Using old PC to connect to a VDI, but why...

  • @justadakaje That depends - I've managed to draw a lot of extra life from using PCs as thin clients - hardware is utilised less, the hard drive does almost no work past bootup, less RAM is consumed as what we use is a shell conversion tool. If the PC fails, then you can replace it with a hardware device, but while the PC is working, there's no harm in it.

  • @justadakaje For security purposes, if you turn your pc into a thin client or a streamlined host os like I've done running XP Pro (300mb) you enjoy the benefits of creating a very secure environment for all your web browsing activities. In my case the host os never see's the internet, all host and app files are blocked by comodo firewall. You can then run virtual apps with bridge network direct to your router with each virtual app specialised for what ever purpose your require.

  • @jus VDI is really designed for business environments where consolidation, deployment, cost savings and management are simplified. As for personal use, sometime in the future someone will provide users with a ubuntu VDI access for secure cheap fast Internet access. This means you could have very cheap local internet access via SSL exclusively to your VDI session while your accessing high speed internet from the VDI server (Data center) greatly increasing your security and end user costs.

  • To convert a PC to a thin client for Free, see the 2X ThinClientServer Free Version - 5 managed PC's and unlim. copies of the 2X ThinClient OS. Google - 2X Software

  • this video is waste of hard disk space at youtube.

  • Instead of crappy music, perhaps if you'd talk and explain what it is you're doing this might actually be helpful. I couldn't even finish watching it due to the crappy music.

  • What about just being grateful for the efforts made by Mr. XenAppblog. Use your f****** mute button if you can't stand the music.

  • @Alphadragon1979 This music is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well it was when it started nvrmind

  • @Alphadragon1979 That was a great song!

  • @Alphadragon1979 Whoa whoa whoa easy there...
