LOL @ the haters. I've been riding streetbikes for 18 years (currently own a GSXR-1000). I also owned a 2007 SRT8 Jeep for a few years. I pulled away from a few newer (2000-2005ish) 600cc bikes. 1000s are a different story. The Jeep's 170mph top speed puts a few 600s to shame. Most people just don't know how fast the 1st gen SRT8 Jeeps are. They will kill a 600 out of the hole (AWD vs tough to launch bike) and on the top end. Bike wins the 40-120 race, but after that HP trumps light weight.

@heyybii the bike was getting closer to the jeep (means its faster!). the bike probably let off the throttle a few times. the jeep has a bored and stroked engine rebuild and force induction and still slower than a stock 1000 bike . the jeep weights 10 times more then the 500 lb bike but definitely not 10 times more powerful. wiki shows 2004 up r1's have 180 hp x 10= 1800 hp jeep i think not. i just can't see a jeep hanging with a 1000 cc sport bike on the highway.

also, i notice a GPS, why not show us the GPS verifying the speed of the jeep? you know, speedometers at high speeds are very VERY inaccurate... for instance, when im going 140mph in my benz im only going 128mph when i check the GPS... 170mph the other night on my bike, 152mph GPS buried the speedo on the R1 (yeah i got a smaller rear sprocket for top speed runs) 191mph GPS. show us GPS verified speeds for truer results.
@matthias2986 did you change the size of your tires on your benz .going feom a 205 55 16, to a 205 50 16 made my speedo off my almost 3mph. , i bet you put on larger wheels , making the speedo that off, no oem speedo as of the 90's would be that off unless you altered the wheels. valid point on the GPS though .

@jabba12000 at that point its a matter of luck and good gear, i have gone down at high speed, i had full gear on and my body didnt hit anything, i walked away with bruises, if i had hit a telephone pole, car, tree ect. i would have been SOL.. Now in the case of a car, as long as the car stays on 4 wheels and does not go into a roll, or hit anything solid you would imagine you would be fine also. full gear FTW... just dont hit anything. either case is a mater of not hitting something solid.

@heyybii speedometers are only accurate around town, you know, 50mph, 60mph, top end speed on any car needs to be GPS verified. go turn your gps on and go 110mph look at your cars speedo and compare it to your GPS, your car will almost always read HIGHER then your gps by about 5% i notice in this video he has a GPS system but fails to show off a GPS verified speed, probably because its reading more like 160-sum

@lchatoney1 Listen to the motor when it is at 220kmh and then listen when they flash 290 on the video. Then pause it at 41 seconds. This motor is rated at 425hp @ the crank, plus they supercharged it. If the R1 could have smoked him, he would have.
