I've written to my Rep asking him to support H. R. 3835, The American Freedom Agenda Act of 2007 which, if passed, would "restore the Constitution's checks and balances and protections against government abuses as envisioned by the Founding Fathers."

Please, write your Rep and ask them to co-sponsors the AFA or provide a formal statement explaining why it is supposedly unworthy of support.

The "fascist shift" is already here. Any such legislation still has get past the president. This congress has shown no spine whatsoever. The very word "veto" seems to cow them. Do you really believe that such a bill, once vetoed by the president, has the remotest chance of being passed over his veto? Not by this congress. And I fear that there may not be another congress in the future. It's already too late.

If this congress will not pass it, vote them out. When I contact my representatives about it, I tell them I am a voter in their district. I tell them that it's a deal breaker for me. If they do not support it, I will vote for, work for, and contribute money to their next opponent, whoever it may be.

Everything you mentioned in this proposed legislation is already IN the law. Congress needs to reassert itself, indeed, by enforcing the law as it exists. If anything needs to be added it is to outlaw presidential signing statements. These give unconstitutional power to the president. But beyond writing to your representatives, what do you think we can do about this? Our reps have no guts. And a frightening number of them support the President as if he were a god.

Although I am an Australian and have never been to the USA, I do see the importance of America maintaining its sovereignty and freedoms. America has had a mostly positive influence on the World and has led the way on many issues but what has been happening at the moment is downright scary. I have spoken to a number of Americans that I have met since first hearing of Dr Paul's freedom message four months ago.

After the initial surprise of meeting an Australian who is interested in American Politics, they will more often than not promise to Google Ron Paul and see for themselves.

I sincerely believe that this world will be a better off when Dr Paul takes his rightful place in the oval office and I am happy to do my little part to help make this a reality.
