Minimum wage laws were only suggested after free market capitalism was abandoned because it was the free market that determined wages and salaries. In a free society, competition will force employers to offer fair pay. Sure, a business owner can try to low ball someone if he wanted to, but it would ultimately lead to his demise.

How many businesses do you know would be willing to give a poor man on the street a job for a minimum wage salary? That's right, almost none. Why? Because he doesn't qualify the owner would say. Not allowing companies and people to negotiate their own wages is the reason lots of low paying jobs go overseas. Cain gets tricked into talking about race too much to get elected by white people. He doesn't stand a chance against Obama who understands that game and doesn't get tricked into it. Obama knows we live in a racist country but you can't discuss it openly with these ostriches who have their heads buried in the sand. Plus Cain now has a blonde problem and every stereotype of any black man shown in handcuffs on tv has now been projected onto him in the minds of would be voters. He's toast.
