  • Wish they never invented guns.

  • Now etch some gargoyles in that gothic armor.

  • Plate armor and balls of steal. Perfect knight.

  • remind me why i am looking at these vids? all he is doing is making my buthole clench in anger.. so to speak.. "not even an axe could get thru.." well thats not the idea! you hope fpr the impact to be big enough so the schockwave brakes ribs and other fun stuff.. btw i dont really care about my spelling, you get my point :)

  • I used to be a knight in full plate armour, but then i took an arrow to the knee.

  • @HolzmannsKnogar too bad your not the dragon born so u better not be fiddling with any locks

  • @HolzmannsKnogar I used to watch Conquest, but then I took a knee to the arrow.

  • real knights probably moved more fluidly because their amour was custom made and fitted whereas these people probably bought complete sets

  • I'd love to see an episode on cataphracts on conquest.

  • Interesting...some of the men are wearing "Hollywood yarn mail" and the host is not even wearing the hood of his coif!

  • is this a joke?

  • Gunpowder ruined it all! :(

  • the gothic armor - early proof of german engeneering qualities :D

  • A good forged Claymore would do the job

  • cool show

  • wow, its kind of sad that the knights hood ended such short period of time just like that...just like the samurai ended because of the fire arms and economics that gone off...

  • @TheBastered

Samurais used lot of firearms when they did go to war. It was mainly politics what caused their demise, nothing to do with firearms.

  • @MokomaSusi well, it did ended the way of samurais...

  • Knights armor is hard to penetrate if you've watched deadliest warrior Knight vs pirate the knights armor deflected a bullet from a flint lock pistol

  • Wow, i really like the middle ages. im planning on buying a bascinet helmet with a Grill Visor! Another cool thing about knights is that i heard even a early 18th century pirate pistol would not pierce a knights armour!

  • that is cool I love knights

  • a mace will beat any knight. it doesn't matter how good his armor is if you knock him out, or smash him.

  • @equallyeasilyfuqyou I think this episode showed that the armour could stop it, but the bones inside would break.

  • Knights and firearms coexisted for a hundred years, and an early musket ball had little chance of penetrating the knight's armor. It was economics that killed the knight, not firearms.

  • @13jhow ....so true....but also they were getting beaten by the improving infantry close ranks and spetial armor piercing weapons did much dmg and the knight lost superiority on battlefield... and crossbow was earlyer used and shot better than early fireamrs still easy to learn to fire and reload it......

  • @13jhow And cannons, don't forget those.

  • @13jhow WRONG - it was economics AND firearms that killed the knight

  • @AmericanHero911 not really true a knight is basicly a tittle of nobelman but some knight allways had orders...i mean look at french musketers they were basicly knight of firearms era (they were nobility, had supperior equiptment and were mastery trained

  • @13jhow that and brightly colored uniforms to identify your troops was far cheaper and could be done on a grander scale than armor

  • @13jhow and i would say that it was begining of absolutism and centralisation of monarchs power, cheers

  • @13jhow elaborate on that what do u you mean econ?

  • @kaindrg Knights were expensive to field compared to musketeers and pikemen, or lighter cavalry using pistols and light lances, and just wernt really worth the cost since they wernt as effective as they had been Knights were also expensive to maintain, train and field on a long campaign, particularly the cost of the armour for their bodies, which was expensive in its own right not to mention the cost of the horses armour and each man-at-arms i.e knight had 2-3 horses on a long campaign

  • @13jhow They also forgot that pikemen had more to do with the downfall of knights than the early guns. Plus the longbow could penetrate a knights armor, too, and the crossbow as well.

  • @Hotshotter3000 proved by english longbowmen during the hundred years war

  • @13jhow That is true. In fact, armorers were actually pressed to make better armor when firearms started to catch up and so when a man went to go purchase a piece (usually a cuirass) he would always check for round dent in the armor showing its proof that it could resist bullets, hence the term "bullet proof".
