I recently installed the original engine-starting, hand-cranking mechanism back onto my Ryan PT-22. They were removed by the post-war civilian owners in an attempt to lighten up the plane. The mechanism and its mounting adopter weigh about 15 pounds. Just a little over a gallon of gas! No more hand-propping for me! -d

my dad learned to fly in these too, what a blast that must have been tearing around the countryside buzzing farms, sharp looking airplane.

A classic U.S. Army Air Force trainer.
This was my dad's first trainer before the basic and advanced trainer after which my father became a WW2 B17 Pilot.
Dad loved this aircraft.I say buy it if you can afford it.
