Here's my suggestion - make up a snow plow blade to about 1:20.3 scale, mount it on the front of a spare bogie and attach the bogie to a broom/rake handle with some sort of hinged joint. Place the bogie on the track and push it with the broom handle.
This from a bloke who was 19 years old before he saw snow falling.
Its funny to see the engine making its way through the snow but, I can see where having a plow would make it professional. BTW Is there any G-Scale Rotary Snow Trains?
you can make one ,get yourself a plow toy from toy store .make sure the plow is a little bigger than track . then get one of those little bird houses ,with aglue gun glue the bird house to the plow .cut plow from toy .with glue gun and small wood screws att. to flat car .you can use plastic to glue on roof of bird house .come see first snow gravelcanyon.i put the BH on later tolal cost about 10 bucks.
I LOVE watching the snow fly out the side of my plow pushing it with my train. i love it when its snow about 5 inches because its perfect for my snowplow. i only have one locomotive but its sort of a modified CPR GP-40 with its 2 motors >.>
WoW! all this time i was using a wedge plow in front of my SD45s??? that loco is brutal. didnt know it could do that. did you add any extra weight or is it stock?
I'm surprised that the track does not short circuit.

Instead of buying a snow plow, just make yourself a snow blower, theyre much more effective if made correctly!!

doesnt that break the track having snow on it?
trainboy1000 3 years ago
no, snow is not hevy, and the track is designed to take the strain.

now think of real scale?
Its amazing to see what 3,000horses of EMD power raging through a snow drift huh?
big or small, its always the fact that your plowing snow.
Now, lets see a ALCo C630 plow some snow, if you got one!
Cheers.
