  • Show us how to make it I am trying to make one for stock cars

  • @dismisolive What do you mean by "make it?" These are actual train horns that were once used on a freight train.

  • Awesome video!! Love them Leslie's!

  • AAR standards are that of air brakes, 40 to 140, same as big trucks.

Setting a regulator up for around 60 psi gives a loud tone but extends the life of the diaphragms, the only moving parts.

  • sounds like a firetruck horn

  • Beautiful job, they look great. Powder coating, nice idea, major durable. Sound good too...,

  • why did you paint them

  • @honeybunchickens When I received them they were painted primer red. They were very ugly and didn't work so I took them apart for cleaning and repair. Then I powder coated them to match a set I saw in a picture from 1976 when a lot of engines were painted in the Spirit of '76 paint scheme. Most horns on those special painted trains were left either black or gold but I only saw one that was done like this.

  • whoa whoa whoa! Overblowing CAN damage the horn. I mean pressure overblowing, not playing with...1/2 inch hose and 130 psi will do the trick

  • @norfolksouthernjb Thanks but that IS a 1/2 hose and set at 100 psi. The spec sheet for that horn says 49 CFM @ 40-140 psi. I appreciate the concern and believe me, I don't want to damage it either.

  • wow nice paint kyle
