Born in 1978, remember wearing Luvs when my mom used disposable dapers. They were super thick, crinkly, and snug. Disposables were definitely the best in the late 70's and early 80's. Probably why I wasn't potty trained until I was 4! :)
smoking while changing a diaper? You need both hands for chaning and i think that some people didn't like the plastic and whatever material that was there prior that was pmoother.
I think the reason they stopped putting the plastic on the diapers is because of people smoking while changing their childs diapers and were afraid the parent would burn the child with a cigarette ash or something. We tried Luv's on my nephews and they just pee'd right through the legs, we used Huggies.
Hello! Those jingles drove my daddy and me up the wall because they kept showing over and over, just to get their messages across about a product like this. Today, they still do. But anyway, as the slogan says, your baby's comfort does, and still will, begin with Luvs!
What year did this come out? I know that this commercial with that slogan was on for at least 2-3 years in the early 80'sand someone's posting here indicated there was one commercial from 1979 or so.
yes diapers back in late 70s and 80s were so thick and comfy.i wore pampers till age 6 and then a youth diaper.they were so absorbant and comfortable.kids today are missing out on the thick diapers.there were no goodnites when i was a kid,you were a bedwetter you wore diapers to bed thats it
Nice find. My dad always said I used to sing the jingle at the end of the ad (when I was 5 or 6), but I couldn't remember it in my adult years, until now.
I truly enjoy these vintage diaper commercials I am finding on this website. I was wondering who the woman is on the commercial because I was watching the E! True Hollywood Story on Home Improvement and I saw a tape of Patricia Richardson in a diaper commercial. Could someone please tell me what brand and what year that was? Thank you.
Either that or the other material that was there as well prior to plastic in the late 70's. It felt softer. Also, for those who post the vintagediaper commercials during what shows were you finding these on? Also, what other TV commercials were on in addition to diaper commerials? I also just remembered with regard to vintage Pampers/Luvs commercials you knew when a kid was wearing them because of all the krinkling!

Luvs was also made by Proctor and Gamble the makers of Luvs. Trying to squeeze out the competition.
