Michigan were The Fab 5 and a bunch of astrophysic majors just trying to run the floor to keep up. Massive difference. Duke were the better team, but the Fab 5 we far better players and their longevity in the NBA proves it. Besides Hill, no one from that Duke team made an impact. It's a shame what happened to Hurley.

I'm proud to say I walked the earth with this team at Michigan. They weren't perfect on or off the court, but they made college ball entertaining as hell. I still miss the Fab5 era. Duke & NC can have it's cookie cutters team moulds etc and the banners -but Michigan's Fab5 was the cooler than either of those teams combined and then some. Money was given to players (Chris Webber) to come to the University of Michigan by Ed Martin. It was common knowledge in the Detroit area what Ed Martin was doing at the U of M as far back as 1983. Had he testified (before he suddenly died) this would have come out. In fact, Remedial Robinson last year alluded to money being exchanged during his days in an interview. Other coaches in the Big Ten, knew cheating was going on in Ann Arbor and mentioned this off the record.
